Watchmen Chapter II on 4K and Blu-ray in December

The 2024 DC animated movie “Watchmen: Chapter II” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 3rd via Warner Bros. Discovery Entertainment. The film, from Warner Bros. Animation, is based on the 1986 graphic novel series “Watchmen” by writer Alan Moore and illustrator Dave Gibbons.

The voice cast includes Matthew Rhys (Dan Dreiberg, Nite Owl), Katee Sackhoff (Laurie Juspeczyk, Silk Spectre), Titus Welliver (Rorschach, Walter Kovacs), Troy Baker (Adrian Veidt, Ozymandias), Adrienne Barbeau (Sally Jupiter, Silk Spectre), Corey Burton (Captain Metropolis), Michael Cerveris (Jonathan Osterman, Dr. Manhattan), Jeffrey Combs (Edgar Jacobi, Moloch), Grey DeLisle, Kelly HuJohn Marshall Jones (Hooded Justice), Max Koch, Phil LaMarr, Yuri Lowenthal (Wally Weaver), Geoff Pierson (Hollis Mason, Nite Owl), Dwight Schultz, Jason Spisak, Kari Wahlgren (Janey Slater), and Rick D. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. Both versions will include a digital copy. Arcane Season One comes to 4K and Blu-ray in October

The animated TV series “Arcade: League of Legends – Season One” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, Blu-ray Disc SteelBook, and standard Blu-ray Disc on October 8th via GKIDS / Shout! Factory. The show, as seen on Netflix, features the voice talents of Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell, Kevin Alejandro, Jason Spisak, Harry Lloyd, Toks Olagundoye, JB Blanc, Amirah Vann, Katie Leung, and Mia Sinclair Jenness. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and uncompressed audio (likely in 2.0 Stereo, although not yet confirmed), spanning across a 3-disc set. Tech specs for the Blu-ray releases include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and uncompressed audio, spanning a 3-disc set. DC Universe movie Batman: Hush on 4K and Blu-ray

The DC Universe animated movie “Batman: Hush” is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on August 13th via Warner. The animated film, based on the graphic novel (of the same title) written by Jeph Loeb, was directed by Justin Copeland and it features a voice cast of Jason O’Mara, Peyton List, Peyton List, Rebecca Romijn, Jennifer Morrison, Rainn Wilson, Jerry O’Connell, Tara Strong, Vanessa Williams, and Jason Spisak. Tech specs for the release have not been fully detailed but it has been obviously mentioned (in the press release) that the 4K will include HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range. Both films should receive 5.1 lossless mixes, likely in the DTS-HD Master Audio format, although that has not yet been confirmed. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray are both now available for pre-order over at Amazon. The release will both come in the form of “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray included, the Blu-ray getting a DVD included, and both getting a digital copy of the film.
