The 1995 film Babe and sequel on 4K in December

Both movies have received new 4K scans from the 35mm original camera negative(s). The tech specs [for each film] on 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), and lossless 5.1 and 2.0 stereo sound, all on a BD-100 disc [for each]. The audio should be in DTS-HD Master Audio. Each release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 4K UHD Blu-rays for “Babe” and “Babe: Pig in the City” are not yet available for preorder on Amazon, but stay tuned for an update. The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround and lossless 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

1999 film The Green Mile comes to 4K in February

The 1999 film adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Green Mile is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 22nd, 2022 via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.  The film, directed & screenplay adapted by Frank Darabont, starred Tom Hanks, David Morse, Bonnie HuntJames Cromwell, Sam Rockwell, and the late Michael Clarke Duncan.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) compatible with Movies Anywhere.  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon and at retailer Best Buy.  The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

The 1999 film “The General’s Daughter” starring John Travolta is coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 29th via Paramount, according to retailers. The film, directed by Simon West, co-starred Madeleine StoweJames Cromwell, Timothy Hutton, Leslie Stefanson, Daniel von Bargen, Clarence Williams III, and James Woods. The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed. You can find that the Blu-ray is now listed for preorder over at Amazon. Big Hero 6 on 4K UHD Blu-ray in November

The 2014 Oscar-winning animated film Big Hero 6 is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 5th via Disney, according to retailers. The film, co-directed by Don HallChris Williams, featured the voice talents of Ryan PotterScott AdsitJamie Chung, T.J. Miller, Jamie Chung, Damon Wayans Jr., Genesis Rodriguez, James Cromwell, Alan Tudyk, and Maya Rudolph. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc and a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. 1976 Neil Simon written film “Murder By Death” is coming to Blu-ray in December

The 1976 Neil Simon written film “Murder By Death” featuring a star-studded cast is coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 18th via Shout! Factory (on the Shout Select label). The title’s technical specifications have not fully been detailed aside from including full 1080p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio, with no indication of what sound format or mix – although, I’d speculate that it will be a lossless Stereo mix, considering it theatrically had a Mono mix. The film, directed by Robert Moore, included a cast of Peter FalkAlec GuinnessPeter SellersEileen BrennanTruman CapoteElsa LanchesterDavid Niven, Maggie Smith, and James Cromwell. Bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed, as the title was just announced in the past hour via the distributor on their social media accounts. The title is not yet available for pre-order over at Amazon, but you can pre-order it directly from the Shout! Factory store – where you’ll get it shipped two weeks early (ahead of the release date).
