The 2024 film Heretic on 4K and Blu-ray in January

The 2024 film “Heretic“ will be released on Blu-ray Disc on January 21st via A24. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods co-directed and co-wrote it. The movie stars Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher, Chloe East, and Topher Grace. It’s certainly worth noting that, based on critic reviews, this film is “Certified Fresh” at Rotten Tomatoes.

The Blu-ray’s tech specs include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. You can find the standard Blu-ray now available for preorder at Amazon. The bonus materials include the following.

  • An audio commentary with writer-directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods
  • A Making-Of Featurette
  • On Set Photography by Kimberly French

It’s also worth mentioning that the A24 store will get an exclusive Special Edition Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray. The tech specs for the Special Edition Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases are now available for preorder at the A24 store, with a release date sometime this month. Each will include the same bonus materials as the Blu-ray (listed above), different artwork, and six collectible postcards featuring on set photography by Kimberly French.

Wonka comes to 4K and Blu-ray Disc in late February

The 2023 film “Wonka” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 27th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.  The film, directed by Paul King, stars Timothée Chalamet, Olivia Colman, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, and Hugh Grant.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound.  Both releases will include a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.  It’s worth noting that retailer Walmart will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) which you can find available for preorder.

HBO limited series The Undoing comes to Blu-ray in March

The 2020 HBO limited series “The Undoing” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 23rd, 2021, via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The limited series, created by David E. Kelley and directed by Susanne Bier, starred Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Edgar Ramirez, Noah Jupe, Lily Rabe, Noma Dumezweni, Sofie Gråbøl, Matilda De Angelis, Ismael Cruz Córdova, and Donald Sutherland. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, spanning across two BD-50 discs for the 6 episodes. The 2020 Guy Ritchie [directed] film “The Gentlemen” appears to be coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on April 21st, via Universal, according to retailers. The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting the Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting a DVD, and each including a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon – one place where the release date is listed.
