The 1980 comedy “Private Benjamin“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on April 28th via Warner Archive (Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment).

Howard Zieff directed the movie, which starred Goldie Hawn. The film co-starred Eileen Brennan, Albert Brooks, Mary Kay Place, Armand Assante, and the late Harry Dean Stanton. It’s worth noting that this movie was nominated for 3 Academy Awards (“Oscars”), including best actress in leading and supporting roles.

The tech specs for Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono sound, on a BD-50 disc. The Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon and MovieZyng. The bonus material included with the release is listed.

The 1978 film Foul Play comes to 4K in April

The 1978 film “Foul Play” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 22nd via KL Studio Classics. Also, a Special Edition Blu-ray will be released on the same date. The film was written & directed by Colin Higgins. It starred Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase. Other cast members included Burgess Meredith, Dudley Moore, and Marilyn Sokol. William Frankfather, Rachel Roberts, Billy Barty, and the late Brian Dennehy were also part of the cast.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) and lossless audio, on a BD-100 disc. Tech specs for the Special Edition Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation and lossless audio, on a BD-50 disc. The exact details about the audio configuration(s) and format(s) have yet to be announced, but stay tuned for an update.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray are available for preorder at Amazon. Also, you can preorder directly via Kino Lorber’s website. The 1974 film “The Sugarland Express” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 12th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, the theatrical directorial debut from Steven Spielberg, starred Goldie Hawn, Ben Johnson, Michael Sacks, and William Atherton.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless surround sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will be a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy.

The 1992 film “Death Becomes Her” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 22nd via Scream Factory. The film, directed by Robert Zemeckis, starred Meryl Streep, Bruce Willis, Goldie Hawn, and Isabella Rossellini.

The movie has received a new 4K transfer of the original 35mm camera negative. Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo lossless sound mixes. The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder via Amazon, online retailer GRUV, and directly (with a bonus poster) via Shout! Factory’s website. The 1978 comedy “Foul Play“ starring Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase is coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 8th, 2022 via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, written & directed by Colin Higgins, co-starred Burgess Meredith, Dudley Moore, Marilyn Sokol, William Frankfather, Rachel Roberts, Billy Barty, and the late Brian Dennehy.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray and bonus materials have not yet been detailed, but stay tuned possibly for an update on that soon. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. This will be the first time that the film has been available in the Blu-ray Disc format.
