Real Genius starring Val Kilmer on 4K September

The 1985 comedy “Real Genius“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 13th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Martha Coolidge, starred Val Kilmer, Gabe Jarrett, William Atherton, and Patti D’Arbanville.
The film has received a new scan from the original negative and sound mix, both reviewed and approved by director Martha Coolidge. That said, tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range in terms of video. In terms of audio, this release will include a new Dolby Atmos mix (approved by the director) as well as lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound mixes. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning it will come with its Blu-ray counterpart and include a digital copy (code) of the film.
