Predator: Badlands comes to Blu-ray and 4K in February

Commissions Earned

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-66 disc. Technical specifications for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook will both be 2-disc “combo pack” releases, with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. All of the 4K and Blu-ray physical media releases will feature a digital code (copy) of the film, which is compatible with Movies Anywhere.

A Complete Unknown on 4K and Blu-ray in April

The 2024 film “A Complete Unknown” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on April 1st. The physical media releases come via Searchlight Pictures (Disney). Directed, produced, and co-written by James Mangold, the film is nominated for 8 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. It stars Timothée Chalamet, Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Boyd Holbrook, Dan Fogler, Norbert Leo Butz, and Eriko Hatsune. It’s worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” (by critics) and “Verified Hot” (by audiences) on Rotten Tomatoes.

2011 J.J. Abrams film Super 8 is officially coming to 4K in May

The 2011 film Super 8 is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 25th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, both written and directed by J.J. Abrams as well as produced by Steven Spielberg, starred Elle FanningAJ MichalkaKyle Chandler, Joel Courtney, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills, Riley Griffiths, Gabriel Basso, and Bruce Greenwood. It has received a new 4K remaster for this release. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with both HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 sound.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2019 sequel “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” seems to be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 14th, 2020 via Disney, according to retailers. The film, directed by Joachim Rønning, stars Angelina JolieElle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Harris DickinsonSam Riley, Robert Lindsay, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed but stay tuned for an update on that. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray counterpart (with bonus materials), the Blu-ray getting a DVD counterpart, and both getting a digital code (copy) of the film. You can’t yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray or Blu-ray listed on Amazon, but stay tuned for an update on that. In the meantime, however, you can find both the 4K and Blu-ray listed over at retailers Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. It’s worth noting that retailer Best Buy will also be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook of the film, which is now available for preorder (pictured below). “Galveston” starring Ben Foster on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in December

The 2018 film “Galveston” starring Ben Foster and Elle Fanning is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 11th via RLJ Entertainment, according to early alerts to retailers. The film, directed by Mélanie Laurent, co-stars Lili ReinhartRobert Aramayo, and Beau Bridges. Tech specs for the release and bonus materials have not yet been detailed. It is known that the 4K release will come in the from of a “combo pack” getting a Blu-ray included of the film – also likely for bonus materials. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are available to pre-order over at Amazon.
