The 1987 film Innerspace limited edition 4K in April

Joe Dante directed the movie, which Steven Spielberg produced. It starred Dennis Quaid, Martin Short, and Meg Ryan. The supporting cast included Kevin McCarthy, Fiona Lewis, Vernon Wells, Robert Picardo, Wendy Schaal, Harold Sylvester, and Henry Gibson.

It has received a new restoration from the original 35mm negative (by Arrow Films), approved by director Joe Dante. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range, along with Dolby Atmos, as well as lossless 2.0 stereo, and a 4.0 from the 70mm 6-track mix. Tech specs for the Blu-ray version include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio along with Dolby Atmos, as well as both lossless 2.0 and 4.0 sound mixes.

There will also be other versions released on vinyl and CD, but I’ll get to those later. The iconic album from the British rock band has been remastered and received a new Dolby Atmos sound mix by James Guthrie, a name fans will recognize. Also, you’ll get 25 bonus tracks, including an alternate version of the title track [song]. Included in those bonus tracks are the recordings of an April 1975 live concert from Los Angeles, which have been restored and remastered by Steven Wilson.

The tech specs for the original album feature audio options for mixes in Dolby Atmos [2025], lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 [2011], the original 2.0 stereo [1975], and 4.0 quadraphonic [1975]. The sound tech specs there only apply to the first five tracks, though. The tracks from 6 on out are presented in only 2.0 lossless stereo. The 1980 musical Xanadu comes to 4K in August

The 1980 musical “Xanadu” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Special Edition on August 19th via KL Studio Classics. Robert Greenwald directed the film. It starred Olivia Newton-John,ย Gene Kelly,ย Michael Beck,ย James Sloyan,ย Dimitra Arliss,ย and Sandahl Bergman.

This received a new 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, available with either Dolby Vision or HDR10, on a BD-100 disc. It will include lossless sound mixes of the original 4.0 stereo, 5.1 surround, and 2.0 stereo. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, on a BD-50 disc, with 4.0 stereo, 5.1 surround, and 2.0 stereo sound. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 1986 film Cobra is coming to 4K in July

The 1986 film “Cobra” will be released via Arrow Video on 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition on July 22nd. George P. Cosmatos directed the film, which Sylvester Stallone co-wrote. The movie starred Sylvester Stallone, Brigitte Nielsen, Reni Santoni, Andrew Robinson, Brian Thompson, John Herzfeld, and Lee Garlington.
