The 1985 Western Silverado comes to 4K in October

The 1985 Western genre film “Silverado“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook for the first time on October 7th, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Lawrence Kasdan directed and co-wrote the film with his brother Mark Kasdan. The movie starred Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, Rosanna Arquette, John Cleese, Kevin Costner, Brian Dennehy, Danny Glover, Jeff Goldblum, and Linda Hunt.

The motion picture has been restored from the original camera negative (OCN). The 4K tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range. The audio on the 4K will be presented in Dolby Atmos, as well as with optional lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 surround sound. The 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. A digital copy, presumably compatible with Movies Anywhere, will be included with this release.

Airplane II The Sequel on 4K in September

The 1982 film “Airplane II: The Sequel” is being released on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray on September 23rd via KL Studio Classics.

Ken Finkleman directed and co-wrote the film. It starred Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty, Lloyd Bridges, William Shatner, Peter Graves, Raymond Burr, and Chuck Connors. The cast also included Rip Torn, John Dehner, Chad Everett, Kent McCord, John Vernon, and Sonny Bono.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The technical specifications for the 4K include a 2160p UHD visual presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range, on a BD-100 disc. Audio on both the 4K and Blu-ray will be presented in lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo. The Blu-ray will include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included.

Night of the Living Dead 1990 on 4K in September

The 1990 remake of “Night of the Living Dead“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on September 23rd via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Tom Savini directed the film, which George A. Romero produced. It starred Tony Todd and Patricia Tallman. The movie is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.

The 4K release includes both the new UNRATED “Uncensored Cut” and the theatrical release. Both versions will be presented in 2160p video in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 form of high dynamic range. The sound will be presented in Dolby Atmos, lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, and 2.0 surround (for theatrical cut only). The 1987 film “Creepshow 2“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a Limited Edition on September 30th via Arrow Video. Michael Gornick directed the movie, which was a second screenwriting collaboration between George A. Romero and Stephen King. It starred Tom Savini, George Kennedy, Holt McCallany, Don Harvey, Daniel Beer, Page Hannah, and Lois Chiles.

This has been given a brand-new 4K restoration from the original negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 intended aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range.
