The 2000 film Reindeer Games on 4K in January

The 2000 film “Reindeer Games” will be released in two formats. It will be available on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray Disc. The release date is January 14th via KL Studio Classics. The film was directed by John Frankenheimer. It starred Ben Affleck, Charlize Theron, and Gary Sinise. It also featured Dennis Farina, Clarence Williams III, Isaac Hayes, and Danny Trejo. Further roles included Donal Logue and James Frain.
The movie’s theatrical cut has received a new 4K master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation of the theatrical cut in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and lossless 2.0 sound, on a BD-100 disc. The tech specs for the Special Edition Blu-ray include a 1080p video presentation of the Director’s Cut in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 lossless sound, on a BD-50 disc. The Director’s Cut comes from an HD master. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 2021 film “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 8th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, based on the popular “Resident Evil” video game franchise from CAPCOM, written & directed by Johannes Roberts, stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia, Donal Logue, and Neal McDonough.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. Both releases will include a digital code (copy) of the film. The 4K UHD Blu-ray release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. There’s a reason that I said standard 4K release, as there will in fact be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available at all retailers (pictured below) which is also now available for preorder over at Amazon.

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p 4K presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound, with a Dolby TrueHD 7.1 core. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart along with a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray is available to preorder over at Amazon. There will also be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook exclusively at retailer Best Buy, which is pictured below and now available for preorder as well.
