The 1989 film “Parenthood“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 26th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment.
Ron Howard co-wrote and directed the film, which starred Steve Martin. It co-starred Mary Steenburgen, Dianne Wiest, Jason Robards, Rick Moranis, Martha Plimpton, Keanu Reeves, Dennis Dugan, and Joaquin Phoenix. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. It will also come with a digital code (copy) compatible with Movies Anywhere.
Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc.

The 1990 film “Edward Scissorhands“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on October 28th via 20th Century Studios (Disney). Tim Burton co-wrote, produced, and directed the movie. It starred Johnny Depp, Winona Ryder, Dianne Wiest, Anthony Michael Hall, Kathy Baker, and Vincent Price. It’s worth noting that this movie remains “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews at Rotten Tomatoes.
The movie has received a new restoration. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by Dolby Vision and HDR10, as well as Dolby Atmos sound, all on a BD-66 disc. The release will come as a 2-disc set “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included, as well as a digital copy compatible with Movies Anywhere.
The 1984 film “Footloose” (celebrating its 40th anniversary) will be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 13th, 2024 via Paramount Home Entertainment. There will be a standard 4K release (pictured above) as well as a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook with a collectible poster (pictured below) available. Neither version is yet available for preorder at any retailers but stay tuned for an update. The film was directed by Herbert Ross and starred Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, Chris Penn, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The film, celebrating its 35th anniversary, directed by Joel Schumacher, starred Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Alex Winter, Kiefer Sutherland, Brooke McCarter, Billy Wirth, Jami Gertz, Jamison Newlander, Dianne Wiest, Barnard Hughes, and Edward Herrmann.
Tech specs for the release appear to include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film.
UPDATE: You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. You also can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray listed for preorder over at retailer Best Buy. It’s certainly worth noting that Best Buy will be also getting an exclusive4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) which is also now available for preorder.

The 2018 film “The Mule” directed by and starring Clint Eastwood is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on April 2nd via Warner, according to early alerts to retailers. The film, inspired by a true story, co-stars Bradley Cooper, Manny Montana, Michael Peña, Taissa Farmiga, Andy Garcia, Laurence Fishburne, Clifton Collins Jr., and Dianne Wiest.
The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are both available for pre-order over at Amazon. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo” pack with the 4K getting a Blu-ray, the Blu-ray getting a DVD, and a digital copy included with each.
