The 1984 film Paris Texas gets Criterion 4K in December

The 1984 film “Paris, Texas” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 3rd via The Criterion Collection. The film, directed by Wim Wenders, starred Harry Dean Stanton, Dean Stockwell, Nastassja Kinski, Bernhard Wicki, Aurore Clément, and Hunter Carson.

The movie has received a new 4K digital restoration, supervised and approved by director Wim Wenders. The tech specs included a 2160p video presentation in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon and directly via Criterion’s website. The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

1987 sequel Beverly Hills Cop II comes to 4K in May

The 1987 sequel Beverly Hills Cop II is finally coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a “35th Anniversary Edition” release on May 17th via Paramount Home Entertainment.  The film, directed by the late Tony Scott, starred Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Jürgen Prochnow, Ronny Cox, Brigitte Nielsen, Allen Garfield, Paul Reiser, Gilbert R. Hill, Paul Guilfoyle, and the late Dean Stockwell.

UPDATED:  The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound mix.  No bonus materials will be included with this release.  It is most certainly worth noting, that this release will not include a Blu-ray, and instead just a 4K UHD Blu-ray disc along with a digital code (copy) of the film.

“Air Force One” starring Harrison Ford comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray in November

The 1997 Wolfgang Petersen directed film Air Force One starring Harrison Ford is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 6th via Sony. The film co-stars Gary OldmanGlenn CloseWilliam H. Macy, Wendy Crewson, Paul GuilfoyleLiesel Matthews, and Dean Stockwell. Tech specs for the release include full 2160p 4K video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc and Digital Copy of the film included.

Jeff Bridges in “Tucker: The Man and His Dream” comes to Blu-ray in August

The 1988 Francis Ford Coppola directed film “Tucker: The Man and His Dream” starring Jeff Bridges is coming Blu-ray Disc on August 28th via Lionsgate. The film is making its debut on Blu-ray format. This will come in the form of a “30th Anniversary Edition“. Tech specs included full 1080p HD video presented in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound. The Blu-ray will include a Digital Copy of the film included. The title will NOT receive a 4K UHD Blu-ray release but instead a Digital 4K UHD release, just felt this worth mentioning.
