Nightmare Alley comes to 4K and Blu-ray in March

The 2021 film “Nightmare Alley” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on March 22nd via 20th Century Studios (Disney).  The film, directed and co-written by Guillermo del Toro, stars Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, Mary Steenburgen, and David Strathairn.  It is certainly worth noting, at the time of writing, this film is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.  The 4K UHD Blu-ray will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart.  Both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray releases will include a digital code (copy) of the film.

UPDATE:  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.  You can also find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at Best Buy.  It’s also worth noting that retailer Best Buy will also be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) which is now available for preorder as well.

Nomadland with Frances McDormand on Blu-ray in April

The 2020 film “Nomadland” starring Frances McDormand is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on April 27th via Searchlight Pictures (Disney). The film, which is nominated for a total of six Academy Awards (including “Best Picture”), based on a book (written by Jessica Bruder) was directed by Chloé Zhao. This movie co-stars David Strathairn, Linda May, and Charlene Swankie. It’s also worth noting that this film is, at this time, “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes based on critics’ reviews. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will include a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now finally find the Blu-ray listed for preorder over at retailers Best Buy, Target, and Walmart as well as online retailer Deep Discount. There’s no Amazon preorder listing yet and because Disney doesn’t seem to like them, it may be a while before you can purchase it from there but stay tuned for an update on that. Also, there will not be a 4K UHD Blu-ray physical release however there will be a 4K digital release. Yes, I know. That’s typical. And finally, yes, I’m reporting this news late because Disney doesn’t send me any announcements. So, I’ve had to resort to finding my ways to get press releases on my own, plus there were not any preorder listings until just recently. 2014 version of Godzilla officially comes to 4K in March

The 2014 version of the film “Godzilla” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 23rd via Warner. The film, directed by Gareth Edwards, starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Sally Hawkins, Juliette Binoche, and David Strathairn. The tech specs for the release include a 2.40:1 aspect ratio video presentation in HDR10 form of high dynamic range with Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will come with its original Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. There will be an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release available over at retailer Best Buy (pictured below), which is now available for preorder.
