The 2024 film Abigail is coming to 4K in July

The 2024 film “Abigail“ will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 8th via Scream Factory. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett co-directed the film. It stars Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Will Catlett, and Giancarlo Esposito. It is certainly worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

This has received a new 4K presentation from the original elements. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of high dynamic range. There will be Dolby Atmos, as well as lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo sound. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, featuring the new 4K source material.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is available for preorder at Amazon and Walmart. You can also preorder directly via the ShoutFactory.com store, with a bonus poster included. The bonus materials set to be included with the 4K release are listed below, sorted by disc.

The 2024 film Cuckoo is coming to Blu-ray in October

The 2024 film “Cuckoo” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 22nd via Neon, distributed by Decal Releasing. The film, written & directed by Tilman Singer, stars Hunter Schafer, Dan Stevens, Jessica Henwick, Marton Csokas, and Jan Bluthardt. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. You can find the Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. The following bonus materials will be included with the Blu-ray release.

Studio Ghibli film Earwig and the Witch on Blu-ray in April

The 2020 Studio Ghibli animated feature film “Earwig and the Witch” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc in North America on April 6th via GKIDS, distributed by Shout! Factory. The CG animated film, a first for the studio, was directed by Goro Miyazaki and features an English dub voice cast that includes Richard E. Grant, Kacey Musgraves, and Dan Stevens. The original Japanese language track will be included as well with this release, featuring English subtitles. Tech specs for the release have yet to be detailed but stay tuned for a possible update on that. The release will come as a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its DVD counterpart. Not only will there be a standard Blu-ray release, but there will also be a limited edition Blu-ray Disc SteelBook available (pictured below).

2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast on 4K March

The 2017 live-action Disney film adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 10th, via Disney, according to retailers. The film, directed by Bill Condon, featured a cast of Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Kevin Kline, Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, and Emma Thompson. Tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed but you can likely expect it to include HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. Also, there’s no info regarding the bonus materials set to be included on the release, but stay tuned for updates on that. The 4K will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart and a digital code (copy of the film). You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon. It is certainly worth noting that Best Buy will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release (pictured below) which is available for preorder.
