The 2004 film Friday Night Lights on 4K in October

The 2004 film “Friday Night Lights” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on October 8th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Peter Berg, starred Billy Bob Thornton, Lucas Black, Garrett Hedlund, Derek Luke, Jay Hernandez, Lee Jackson, Lee Thompson Young, Tim McGraw, Connie Britton, and Amber Heard. The film is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos, on a BD-66 disc. The releases will both come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy included. UPDATE: The 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook are now available for preorder at Amazon. Also, the 4K UHD Blu-ray is available for preorder at online retailer GRUV and the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) is available for preorder at online retailer GRUV and retailer Walmart.

The 2020 film “Promising Young Woman” starring Carey Mulligan is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 16th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, written & directed by Emerald Fennell, co-stars Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Adam Brody, Clancy Brown, Jennifer Coolidge, Sam Richardson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Connie Britton, Laverne Cox, and Molly Shannon. This movie has been well-received by both critics and audiences and it is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes — at the time of writing this. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound. You can now find the Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon. The film, based on a true story & directed by Jay Roach, co-stars John Lithgow, Allison Janney, Malcolm McDowell, Kate McKinnon, Connie Britton, Liv Hewson, Stephen Root, and Mark Duplass. UPDATED: Tech specs for the Blu-ray include video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with  Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. Yes, you read that correctly. The Blu-ray Disc will come in the form of a “combo pack” with it getting a DVD counterpart and digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon. The 2019 critically-acclaimed drama “The Mustang“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 11th, via Universal. The film, executive produced by Robert Redford and directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, includes a cast of Matthias Schoenaerts, Jason Mitchell, Bruce Dern, Gideon Adlon, and Connie Britton. The film (at time of writing) carries a “Certified Fresh” rating over at Rotten Tomatoes – based on critic reviews. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p HD video in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio (side matted) with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound on a BD-50. The release will come with a digital copy of the film. You can find the Blu-ray is available for pre-order over at Amazon and Best Buy. No bonus materials are slated to be included on this release.
