The 2004 film “Friday Night Lights” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on October 8th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Peter Berg, starred Billy Bob Thornton, Lucas Black, Garrett Hedlund, Derek Luke, Jay Hernandez, Lee Jackson, Lee Thompson Young, Tim McGraw, Connie Britton, and Amber Heard. The film is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos, on a BD-66 disc. The releases will both come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy included. UPDATE: The 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook are now available for preorder at Amazon. Also, the 4K UHD Blu-ray is available for preorder at online retailer GRUV and the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) is available for preorder at online retailer GRUV and retailer Walmart.
