2013 sequel G.I. Joe Retaliation is coming to 4K in late July

The 2009 film “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 20th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The sequel to the 2009 film, based on the popular Hasbro action figure franchise, directed by Jon M. Chu, featured a cast of Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, Ray Park, Elodie Yung, Ray Stevenson, D.J. Cotrona, Adrianne Palicki, Lee Byung-Hun, Luke Bracey, Jonathan Pryce, Walton Goggins, RZA, Joseph Mazzello, and Arnold Vosloo.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range as well as Dolby TrueHD 7.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will come with its Blu-ray counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included with this release will be an audio commentary, found on both the 4K and Blu-ray disc, and extras only on the Blu-ray listed below.

2006 film She’s the Man with Amanda Bynes comes to Blu-ray

The 2006 romantic comedy film “She’s the Man” starring Amanda Bynes is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc for the very first time on March 2nd via Paramount. The film, directed by Andy Fickman, co-starred Channing Tatum, Laura Ramsey, Robert Hoffman, Alexandra Breckenridge, Julie Hagerty, David Cross, and Vinnie Jones. The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD presentation and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. UPDATE: you can now find the upcoming Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.

It’s most certainly worth noting that there will also be a “Girls Rule 3-Movie Collection” Blu-ray Disc release (pictured above) that includes this film along with “Mean Girls” (2004) and “Clueless” (1995) on the same date. That 3-movie collection Blu-ray set is not yet available for preorder either. The 3-movie collection and individual release will both come with a digital copy of the film. The bonus materials set to be included on the upcoming “She’s the Man” Blu-ray include the following.

21 Jump Street and sequel both on 4K in September

The films “21 Jump Street“ (2012) and the sequel “22 Jump Street“ (2014) are both officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 15th, via Sony. Both of these movies, directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, starred Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube. Tech specs for each film include a 2160p 4K presentation in the 2.40:1 and 2.39:1 aspect ratios with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range as well as Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound.

2018 CG animated film “Smallfoot” is coming to Blu-ray this December

The 2018 CG animated film “Smallfoot“ featuring the voices of Channing Tatum and James Corden is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 11th via Warner. The film, directed by Karey Kirkpatrick and Jason Reisig, also features the voices of Zendaya, Common, LeBron James, Danny DeVito, Gina Rodriguez, Yara Shahidi, Ely Henry, Jimmy Tatro, and Justin Roiland.

Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and Digital Copy of the film included. You can pre-order the Blu-ray over at Amazon.
