Short Night of Glass Dolls comes to 4K in April

The 1971 film “Short Night of Glass Dolls” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 29th via Celluloid Dreams. The Italian language film, originally titled “La corta notte delle bambole di vetro,” was directed & co-written by Aldo Lado. Its cast included Jean Sorel, Barbara Bac, Ingrid Thulin, and Mario Adorf.

Regarding the film’s 4K restoration, Celluloid Dreams made the following statement:

“Mastered from a new 4K transfer of the original camera negative, “Short Night of Glass Dolls” has been color-graded and painstakingly restored in-house at Celluloid Dreams to ensure the highest fidelity of the film’s remarkable cinematography.”

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio. It includes HDR10 form of high dynamic range. The audio is DTS-HD Master Audio Mono available in both Italian and English. The release will also include newly translated English subtitles for the Italian audio presentation.

This 4-disc set will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included as well as two additional Blu-ray bonus discs. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. You can also preorder directly via the Celluloid Dreams website. This 4K release will include the physical and digital extras (sorted by disc).

1972 Italian film The Case of the Bloody Iris on 4K April

The 1972 Italian film “The Case of the Bloody Iris” directed by Giuliano Carnimeo is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 9th via Celluloid Dreams.  The film, originally titled “Perchè Quelle Strane Gocce Di Sangue Sul Corpo Di Jennifer?” in Italy, starred George Hilton, Edwige Fenech, Paola Quattrini, Annabella Incontrera, and Carla Brait.  This will mark the first release for the new startup boutique release label Celluloid Dreams.

UPDATED:  The movie has received a new 2023 4K scan of the original camera negative.  Tech specs for the release include a 4K presentation of the 2.35:1 with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio Italian with English subtitles.  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.  You can already find the 4K UHD Blu-ray now available for preorder over at Amazon and Diabolik DVD.  The physical extra and bonus materials for the release are listed below.
