The 40-Year-Old Virgin comes to 4K in August

The 2005 film “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on August 12th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Judd Apatow directed, produced, and co-wrote the movie. It starred Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen, Catherine Keener, Leslie Mann, Jane Lynch, Kat Dennings, and Elizabeth Banks. It’s worth noting that this motion picture is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. This release will include the rated theatrical cut (117 minutes) and the UNRATED version (133 minutes).
The tech specs for the 4K release(s) include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 form of high dynamic range. It will also include Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-100 disc. The 4K releases will both come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. A digital copy of the film is also included (with each version) that is compatible with Movies Anywhere.

Joker Folie a Deux on 4K and Blu-ray in December

The 2024 film “Joker: Folie à Deux” is officially set for release on 4K UHD Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, and Blu-ray Disc on December 17th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Todd Phillips, stars Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Zazie Beetz.
The tech specs for the 4K releases include a 2160p video presentation in a variable of the 2.20:1 and 1.90:1 aspect ratios with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.20:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. 4K and Blu-ray releases will each include a digital copy compatible with Movies Anywhere. The 2013 CG animated film “The Croods” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 17th, via Universal, according to early retail alerts. The film, directed by Kirk DeMicco & Chris Sanders, featured the voice talents of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Cloris Leachman, and Clark Duke. You can already find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon and retailer Target. This release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include the Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film. The 1999 Joel Schumacher directed film “8MM“ (“Eight Millimeter”) starring Nicolas Cage is coming to Blu-ray Disc on January 8th, 2019 via Scream Factory. The film’s supporting cast included Joaquin Phoenix, James Gandolfini, Peter Stormare, Anthony Heald, Chris Bauer, and Catherine Keener. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound.
