Cinderella Man is coming to 4K in September

The 2005 film Cinderella Man is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 16th, courtesy of Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Ron Howard directed and produced the film along with Brian Grazer. It starred Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger, Paul Giamatti, Craig Bierko, Bruce McGill, and Paddy Considine. The movie was nominated for a total of three Academy Awards. It’s also worth noting that it holds a “Certified Fresh” rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 along with Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. The 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. A digital copy compatible with Movies Anywhere will also be included.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. The following bonus materials will be included with this release.

The 1994 film Timecop is coming to 4K in April

The 1994 film “Timecop” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 29th via Scream Factory. The film was directed by Peter Hyams. It starred Jean-Claude Van Damme, Mia Sara, Ron Silver, Bruce McGill, Gloria Reuben, Scott Bellis, Jason Schombing, and Scott Lawrence.

This comes from a new 4K transfer from the 35mm original camera negative. The 4K tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, featuring the new 4K transfer.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. You also preorder directly via the distributor’s website. No bonus materials are set to be included with this release.

The 1996 film Black Sheep is coming to 4K in March

The 1996 comedy Black Sheep” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 25th via KL Studio Classics. Penelope Spheeris directed the film, which was written by Fred Wolf. It starred Chris Farley, David Spade, Tim Matheson, Christine Ebersole, Gary Busey, Grant Heslov, Timothy Carhart, and Bruce McGill.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, and 2.0 Stereo lossless sound on a BD-100 disc. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

American Underdog on 4K and Blu-ray in February

The 2021 film “American Underdog” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on February 22nd via Lionsgate.  The biographical sports drama, based on the life of NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, was directed by Andrew Erwin & Jon Erwin and stars Zachary Levi, Anna Paquin, Dennis Quaid, Bruce McGill, and Adam Baldwin.

The tech specs for the 4K and Blu-ray release have not yet been fully detailed but stay tuned for an update.  There’s also no word yet regarding the bonus materials set to be included with the releases either.  It is known that both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart and each receiving a digital code (copy) of the film.

2004 Michael Mann film Collateral on 4K in December

The 2004 Michael Mann directed film Collateral starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 8th via Paramount. The film co-starred Jada Pinkett Smith, Mark Ruffalo, Peter Berg, Bruce McGill, Javier Bardem, Irma P. Hall, and Barry Shabaka Henley.

Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio from a new 4K remaster that was done “under the supervision of the director” [Michael Mann]. No specific details yet regarding the audio format or configuration on this release, but I have put in an inquiry directly to the studio (Paramount) about this and I hope to hear back and provide you all with an update soon.

This release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will come with a Blu-ray Disc counterpart (in this case: “remastered, offering an exceptional viewing experience”) and digital code (copy) of the film. “Law Abiding Citizen” with Jamie Foxx comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray in November

The 2009 F. Gary Gray directed film Law Abiding Citizen starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 6th via Lionsgate. Tech specs for the release include 2160p 4K video in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with both Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. This will come as a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc and a Digital Copy of the film included. UPDATE: a PRE-ORDER listing for this 4K release of the film is now available over at Amazon.
