The Mortal Kombat Kollection comes to 4K in June

The “kollection” includes the movies “Mortal Kombat” (1995) and “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation” (1997), each debuting on 4K UHD Blu-ray. Paul W.S. Anderson directed Mortal Kombat, which starred Christopher Lambert, Robin Shou, Linden Ashby, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, Trevor Goddard, and Talisa Soto. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation was directed by John R. Leonetti. The second film starred Robin Shou, Talisa Soto, James Remar, Sandra Hess, Lynn ‘Red’ Williams, Brian Thompson, Irina Pantaeva, and Chris Conrad.

Each movie has received a new 4K restoration by Arrow Films from the original camera negatives. The director of each film approved the presentations. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio [for each film] with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range, along with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo sound. The 2-disc set will feature each movie on its own individual 4K disc.

The 1986 film Cobra is coming to 4K in July

The 1986 film “Cobra” will be released via Arrow Video on 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition on July 22nd. George P. Cosmatos directed the film, which Sylvester Stallone co-wrote. The movie starred Sylvester Stallone, Brigitte Nielsen, Reni Santoni, Andrew Robinson, Brian Thompson, John Herzfeld, and Lee Garlington.

The movie has received a new 4K restoration from the original 35mm negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It includes lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 stereo, 4.0 surround, and 5.1 surround sound options.

1986 film “Cobra” starring Stallone gets Collector’s Edition Blu-ray in January

The 1986 George P. Cosmatos directed film Cobra starring Sylvester Stallone is getting a “Collector’s Edition” Blu-ray Disc release on January 22nd, 2019 via Scream Factory. The film co-starred Brigitte NielsenReni Santoni, Andrew Robinson, Brian Thompson, John Herzfeld, Lee Garlington, Art LaFleur, Marco Rodríguez, Val Avery, and David Rasche.

This film has received a new 2K scan of the original film elements. The tech specs for the release includes 1080p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. This Blu-ray is already available for pre-order over at both Amazon and directly via Shout! Factory’s store. Bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.
