Adam Sandler film Billy Madison on 4K in July

The 1995 comedy Billy Madison starring Adam Sandler comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 29th via KL Studio Classics. Tamra Davis directed the film, which Adam Sandler co-wrote and produced. The movie co-starred Darren McGavinBridgette Wilson-SamprasBradley WhitfordChris FarleyNorm MacDonaldJosh MostelSteve Buscemi, and Robert Smigel.

The movie has received a new master from a new 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of high dynamic range. Audio will be presented in lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo configurations. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 sound.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon and Walmart. Also, customers can preorder directly via the Kino Lorber website. The bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below, sorted by disc.

1993 film “Philadelphia” starring Tom Hanks on 4K UHD Blu-ray in November

The 1993 Jonathan Demme directed film Philadelphia starring Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 27th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, according to an early alert to retailers. Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed, but stay tuned for updates.

UPDATE: This will come in the form of a “25th Anniversary Edition” release as the cover art (pictured above) shows. Still no info yet regarding tech specs or bonus materials. The title is now available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon.

Sci-Fi Thriller “The Darkest Minds” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in October

The 2018 Sci-Fi Thriller “The Darkest Minds” is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on October 30th via Fox Home Entertainment, according to an early alert to retailers. The Jennifer Yuh Nelson directed film is based on the Alexandra Bracken novel, and its cast includes Skylan BrooksAmandla StenbergHarris DickinsonMiya Cech, Mandy MooreGwendoline Christie, and Bradley Whitford.

The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K release getting a Blu-ray included, the Blu-ray release getting a DVD included, and both getting a Digital Copy of the film. The film is available for PRE-ORDER now over at Amazon on both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc. Tech specs and bonus materials for the releases have not yet been detailed, as the studio hasn’t even officially announced this yet in form of press release. That being said, stay tuned for further details regarding this release.

UPDATE: The cover art has been updated on retailers (as pictured) now, and it appears the Blu-ray release will include a “friendship bracelet” exclusively. There is no word that indicates 4K consumers are worthy of this bracelet, sadly. Below you can see the Blu-ray art with a promotional sticker showing the included physical bonus item.
