Inglourious Bastards gets limited edition 4K in January

The 2009 film “Inglourious Bastards” will get a limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc release on January 14th via Arrow Video. The film, written & directed by Quentin Tarantino, starred Brad Pitt, Christoph Waltz, B.J. Novak, Daniel Brühl, Diane Kruger, Eli Roth, and Mélanie Laurent.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. You can now find the limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. The release will come with a good amount of physical extras which are listed and shown below.

The 1995 film Seven is coming to 4K in January

According to retailers, the 1995 film “Seven” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on January 7th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film, a.k.a. “Se7en,” directed by David Fincher, starred Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, R. Lee Ermey, Richard Roundtree, and Kevin Spacey.

UPDATED: The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2.39:1 aspect ratio video presentation in HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.

Both releases will include a digital copy. You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available for preorder at Amazon. And you can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) at retailer Walmart. The 1994 film Legends of the Fall comes to 4K in December

The 1994 film “Legends of the Fall” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 3rd via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Edward Zwick, starred Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins, Aidan Quinn, Julia Ormond, and Henry Thomas. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and it won an Academy Award for “Best Cinematography” (John Toll).

This has been “scanned from the original camera negative.” The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will include a digital copy. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included with this release are listed below.

Paramount Scares Volume 2 comes to 4K in October

The “Paramount Scares: Volume 2” limited edition box set on 4K UHD Blu-ray is officially coming on October 1st via Paramount Home Entertainment. The set will include the following four films, with the first three making their debut on the 4K physical media format:

  • “Breakdown” (1997)
  • “Friday the 13th Part 2” (1981)
  • “Orphan: First Kill” (2022)
  • “World War Z” (2013)

“Breakdown” from 1997, directed and co-written by Jonathan Mostow, starred Kurt Russell, J.T. Walsh, and Kathleen Quinlan. “Friday the 13th Part 2” from 1981, directed by Steve Miner, starred Amy Steel, John Furey, Adrienne King, Kristen Baker, Stuart Charno, Walt Gorney, Tom McBride, Bill Randolph, Lauren-Marie Taylor, Russell Todd, and Betsy Palmer. “Orphan: First Kill” from 2022, directed by William Brent Bell, starred Isabelle Fuhrman, Julia Stiles, Rossif Sutherland, Hiro Kanagawa, Matthew Finlan, and Lauren Cochrane. “World War Z” from 2013, directed by Marc Forster, based on the novel by Max Brooks, starred Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox, Fana Mokoena, David Morse, and Sterling Jerins.

Ocean’s Eleven 2001 remake and trilogy on 4K in April

The remake of “Ocean’s Eleven” from 2001 and the rest of the films in the trilogy will officially be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 30th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The two other films are “Ocean’s Twelve” (2004) and “Ocean’s Thirteen” (2007) and it’s worth noting that there will be individual releases of the films each on 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below). The films, all three directed by Steven Soderbergh, featured casts that included George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Julia Roberts, Al Pacino, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac, Elliott Gould, Ellen Barkin, and the late great Carl Reiner.

The entire trilogy has received a remaster as described below, taken from the press release:

“The 4K remasters of Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen were completed at Warner Bros. Discovery’s Motion Picture Imaging (MPI) with the participation of Soderbergh. The restored 5.1 digital audio mix was overseen by original re-recording sound mixer and sound editor Larry Blake.”

An “Ocean’s Trilogy” 4K UHD Blu-ray (pictured at the top) will be available, now available for preorder at Amazon. “Ocean’s Eleven, “Ocean’s Twelve, and “Ocean’s Thirteen” each (individually pictured above) will get a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook as previously mentioned, and they’re now available for preorder over at Amazon. You can also find those individual 4K UHD Blu-ray Steelbooks for preorder at retailer Walmart.

All of the previous Blu-ray bonus materials will be ported over for each film and included on the 4K disc for each film. Each film will receive a digital code (copy) of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere. Bullet Train arrives on 4K and Blu-ray in October

The 2022 film “Bullet Train” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on October 18th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.  The film, directed by David Leitch, stars Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, Bad Bunny, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Zazie Beetz, and Sandra Bullock.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in 2.39:1 aspect with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.  Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart, and each including a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.
