Nobody 2 is coming to 4K and Blu-ray in October

The 2025 film “Nobody 2” is slated for 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray release on October 7th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Timo Tjahjanto directed the movie. It stars Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, RZA, John Ortiz, Sharon Stone, and Colin Hanks. It’s worth noting this movie is “Certified Fresh” (based on critics) and “Verified Hot” (based on audiences) at Rotten Tomatoes.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by Dolby Vision and HDR10, and featuring Dolby Atmos, on a BD-66 disc. Technical specifications for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Both releases will feature a digital copy of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are now available for preorder at Amazon. Also, you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available to preorder at online retailer GRUV. The bonus materials set to be included with these releases are listed below.

The 2021 film “Nobody” gets a limited-edition 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on July 29th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Ilya Naishuller directed the film. It starred Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, Michael Ironside, RZA, and Christopher Lloyd.

EDITORIAL NOTE: This movie was released on the format back in 2021 in a standard 4K UHD Blu-ray. However, this is the first time that it has received a 4K SteelBook in North America.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of HDR and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-66 disc. This 2-disc release does come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) is now available for preorder at Amazon and online retailer GRUV. It’s not yet listed on Amazon or Walmart, but stay tuned for an update.

Columbia Classics Collection Vol. 5 on 4K in October

The “Columbia Classics 4K Ultra HD Collection: Volume 5” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 1st via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The set includes the following six Columbia Pictures films:

  • “All The King’s Men” (1949)
  • “On the Waterfront” (1954)
  • “A Man for All Seasons” (1966)
  • “Tootsie” (1982)
  • “The Age of Innocence” (1993)
  • “Little Women” (2019)

“All of the King’s Men” was directed by Robert Rossen and starred Broderick Crawford, John Ireland, Joanne Dru, John Derek, Mercedes McCambridge, and Shepperd Strudwick. “On the Waterfront” was directed by Elia Kazan, and starred Marlon Brando, Karl Malden, Lee J. Cobb, Rod Steiger, Pat Henning, and Leif Erickson. “A Man for All Seasons” was directed by Fred Zinnemann, and starred Paul Scofield, Wendy Hiller, Leo McKern, Robert Shaw, Orson Welles, Susannah York, Nigel Davenport, and John Hurt. “Tootsie” was directed by Sydney Pollack, and starred Dustin Hoffman, Jessica Lange, Teri Garr, Dabney Coleman, Charles Durning, Bill Murray, Geena Davis, and George Gaynes. “The Age of Innocence” was directed by Martin Scorsese, and starred Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, Richard E. Grant, Geraldine Chaplin, and Stuart Wilson. “Little Women” was directed by Greta Gerwig, and starred Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet, Tracy Letts, James Norton, Louis Garrel, and Bob Odenkirk. Below is a glimpse at the packaging opened up with the discs (on the left & right sides) and the included hardbound booklet.

Each film in the set will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included along with a digital copy. All six films will be presented in 2160p resolution with high dynamic range and lossless sound. The exact technical specifications of each vary from film to film, so you’ll want to check down further below after the break for the full details. The release will include limited edition slipcovers for each of the six films, a hardbound 80-page booklet, and an exclusive 4K bonus disc. That 4K UHD Blu-ray Bonus Disc contains the following rare 1920s feature films from the Columbia Pictures library:

  • “The Belle of Broadway” (1926) – presented in HD resolution
  • “Ladies of Leisure” (1926) – presented in 4K resolution (SDR)
  • “The Desert Bride” (1928) – presented in 4K resolution (SDR)
  • “The Scarlet Lady” (1928) – presented in 4K resolution (SDR)

The film, directed by Ilya Naishuller, co-stars Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, Michael Ironside, RZA, and Aleksey Serebryakov. The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed, as the studio has yet to officially announce it, but stay tuned for an update on that. It is known via the cover art (pictured above) that the releases will both come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K will get its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray will get a DVD counterpart, and each will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon as well as at retailer Best Buy — who gave away the release date.

EDITORIAL NOTE: Lastly, I have to say that I personally am already a big fan of this flick. I was able to watch it three times over the past weekend via a digital rental. This movie comes as highly recommended.

2019 film “Long Shot” is coming to Blu-ray in July

The 2019 romantic comedy “Long Shot” starring Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron is coming to Blu-ray Disc on July 30th via Lionsgate, according to early alerts to retailers. The film, directed by Jonathan Levine, co-stars June Diane Raphael, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Bob Odenkirk, Andy Serkis, and Alexander Skarsgård. This movie received much critical acclaim during its theatrical run, in fact, it is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes – at time of writing.

Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed but stay tuned for an update when the title gets officially announced by Lionsgate. It is known that the release will come in the form of “combo pack” with the Blu-ray getting a DVD and a digital copy of the film. You can now find the Blu-ray for pre-order over at Best Buy. Meanwhile, Amazon also has the Blu-ray listed for pre-order. UPDATE: It appears no 4K UHD Blu-ray is coming out for this film, as the Best Buy listing has since been removed. Perhaps that was a misprint on their part. Once again, stay tuned for any updates regarding this release.
