The 1976 film “God Told Me To“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 19th via Blue Underground. The cult classic, written and directed by the late Larry Cohen, starred Tony Lo Bianco, Deborah Raffin, Sandy Dennis, Sylvia Sidney, Sam Levene, Robert Drivas, Mike Kellin, Richard Lynch, and Andy Kaufman.
This comes from a “new 4K restoration from the original uncensored negative.” Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range as well as Dolby Atmos and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 1.0 Mono sound mixes. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include a Blu-ray Disc of the film, also using the new 4K restoration.

The 1996 horror film “Uncle Sam“ is officially coming to the 4K UHD Blu-ray format on June 21st via Blue Underground. The film, directed by William Lustig and written by the late Larry Cohen, starred Bo Hopkins, Timothy Bottoms, Robert Forster, P.J. Soles, William Smith, and Isaac Hayes.
This comes from a new 4K restoration, as noted below.
“… UNCLE SAM in a sparkling new 25th Anniversary restoration, scanned in 4K 16-bit from the original 35mm camera negative, with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio, loaded with illuminating Extras!”
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. NOTE: This release only includes a 4K disc and not the Blu-ray Disc.

The 1978 horror film “The Toolbox Murders“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 18th, 2022 via Blue Underground. The film, directed by Dennis Donnelly, starred Cameron Mitchell, Pamelyn Ferdin, Wesley Eure, Nicolas Beauvy, Aneta Corsaut, and Marianne Walter.
The movie has received a new 16-bit 4K restoration from the original uncut negative. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound as well as the original DTS-HD Master Audio 1.0 Mono and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound mixes. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the Blu-ray Disc counterpart (in HD) will be included.

The movie has received a 4K restoration. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo sound, as well as an Isolated Music Track. The release will include a Blu-ray Disc counterpart of the film.

The 1990 film “Two Evil Eyes” co-directed by George A. Romero and Dario Argento is getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray release on August 24th via Blue Underground. The film featured a cast of Adrienne Barbeau, Harvey Keitel, Martin Balsam, E.G. Marshall, John Amos, and Tom Atkins. Tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio from a new 4K restoration in both Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono sound. The new 4K restoration here came from the uncensored original camera negative.

1981 cult-classic horror Dead & Buried on 4K in July

The 1981 cult-classic horror film “Dead & Buried” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 20th via Blue Underground, distributed by MVD Entertainment Group. The film, now celebrating its 40th anniversary, was directed by Gary Sherman and was co-written by Dan O’Bannon, and it starred James Farentino, Melody Anderson, Lisa Blount, Jack Albertson, and Robert Englund. The movie has received a new 4K restoration “from the 35mm IP approved by Director of Photography Steven Poster, ASC” — according to the press release. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range as well as English Dolby Atmos sound. In addition to the new Atmos mix, this release on 4K will also contain English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 1.0 Mono mixes as well
The release will come in the form of a 3-disc set with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as a CD (compact disc) of the original motion picture Soundtrack. As of now, there’s no preorder listing yet available over at Amazon but stay tuned for an update on that. It’s certainly worth noting that Blue Underground has worked hard on bringing you a total choice of three different lenticular slipcovers for this release and the two others are pictured individually below. UPDATE: You can now find the 3 different lenticular cover options available for preorder on 4K UHD Blu-ray (individually) over at Amazon as well as online retailer DiabolikDVD. The film, directed by Don Taylor, starred Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, James Farentino, Katharine Ross, Ron O’Neal, and Charles Durning. This movie has received a new 4K scan in 16-bit from the original film 35mm camera negative and restoration (as noted below). It will be presented in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and include Dolby Atmos as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo sound mixes.
