“The House by the Cemetery” on 4K in August

The 1981 Lucio Fulci directed horror film “The House by the Cemetery” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on August 25th, via Blue Underground. Today came with an official press release announcing the details. Tech specs for the 4K will include video in HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range (HDR) with Dolby Atmos and other original Blu-ray sound mixes. Those original Blu-ray sound mixes include English 5.1 and 1.0 Mono DTS-HD Master Audio and the Italian Mono 1.0 in DTS-HD Master Audio. The video presentation comes from a 4K 16-bit scan from the original 35mm 2-perf camera negative. As of now, there’s currently no preorder listing for the 4K UHD Blu-ray yet over at Amazon or any other retailers, but stay tuned for an update.

UPDATE: This 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder from online retailer Diabolik DVD.

This new release will include both a 4K UHD Blu-ray with the film (and some bonus) as well as a second Blu-ray Disc with extras. The full list of bonus materials set to be included on the release, as by disc, can be found listed below after the break.

Blue Underground brings more to 4K August

Blue Underground today officially confirmed that 2 more titles were coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray format via the distributor which are both Lucio Fulci directed films including “The House by The Cemetery” (1981) and “The New York Ripper” (1982), coming August 25th. It’s certainly worth noting both of these received 4K restorations last year. This comes as some excellent news that was first revealed during a podcast interview featuring the company owner & celebrated horror director, William Lustig.

So, as of now, according to folks at Blue Underground, we’re awaiting a full press release with the full tech specs and full details regarding the upcoming 4K releases. Also, you can not yet find either of the titles available for preorder anywhere, that I know of, but stay tuned for an obvious update on that. In the meantime, you can listen to the podcast episode #190 of “Shock Waves” where William Lustig discusses the company starting to do 4K UHD Blu-ray releases in general and unveiled this news. The 1979 Italian horror film Zombie is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 26th, via distributor Blue Underground. The film, directed by Lucio Fulci, starred Tisa FarrowIan McCullochRichard Johnson, Al Cliver, and Auretta Gay. Back in 2018, the movie received a 4K restoration presented via a Limited Edition Blu-ray release and now that restoration is coming physically to the 4K UHD Blu-ray format. Tech specs for the release include video in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range as well as English Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio in 5.1 and 1.0 Mono configurations. In addition to that, in terms of audio, this will also come with Italian DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 and 1.0 Mono mixes. The release will come with a Blu-ray Disc that contains further special features, but not the film. There’s currently no preorder listing for this available over at Amazon yet, but stay tuned for an update. However, the 4K UHD Blu-ray is now listed for preorder over at the online retailer Diabolik DVD. 1980 film “Maniac” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray May

The 1980 film Maniac is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 26th, via distributor Blue Underground. Back in 2018, the movie received a 4K restoration presented via a Limited Edition Blu-ray release and now that restoration is coming physically to the 4K UHD Blu-ray format. Tech specs for the release include video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range as well as Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio in 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo configurations. The release will come with a Blu-ray Disc that contains further special features, but not the film. There’s currently no preorder listing for this available over at Amazon yet, but stay tuned for an update. However, the 4K UHD Blu-ray is now listed for preorder over at the online retailer Diabolik DVD. Two Evil Eyes Limited Edition Blu-ray October

The 1990 film Two Evil Eyes directed by George A. Romero and Dario Argento is getting a “Limited Edition” Blu-ray Disc release on October 29th via Blue Underground. The film featured a cast of Adrienne BarbeauHarvey Keitel, Martin Balsam, E.G. Marshall, John Amos, and Tom Atkins. Tech specs for the release include 1080p HD video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio from a new 4K restoration with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1, DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono, and Dolby Digital Mono sound. The new 4K restoration here came from the uncensored original camera negative. The “limited edition” Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be included on this new 3-disc “limited edition” Blu-ray are listed below.

“The New York Ripper” Limited Edition comes to Blu-ray in June

The 1982 Lucio Fulci directed film The New York Ripper has received a new 4K restoration and is being re-released to Blu-ray Disc in a Limited Edition on June 25th, via Blue Underground. This restoration source was from the uncensored original camera negative. The highly controversial horror film starred Jack HedleyAlmanta SuskaHoward Ross, Andrea Occhipinti, Alexandra Delli Colli, and Paolo Malco.

Tech specs for the new Blu-ray include full 1080p HD video in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with both DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 and Mono mixes, as well as Dolby Digital 5.1 and 1.0 Mono sound. The release will come in the form of a 3-Disc set featuring a DVD of the film and the Soundtrack to the film included on a CD (compact disc). You can now find this Limited Edition Blu-ray available to pre-order over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.
