Amazon Commissions EarnedThe 2021 film “Respect“ starring Jennifer Hudson is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 9th, via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, a biopic about the late singer Aretha Franklin, was directed by Liesl Tommy, and co-stars Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Tituss Burgess, Audra McDonald, and Marc Maron.
The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-50 disc. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will come with its DVD counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film. You can find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

The film, winner of 3 Academy Awards (“Oscars”), was written & directed by Jane Campion, and it starred Holly Hunter, Harvey Keitel, Sam Neill, and Anna Paquin.
This movie has received a new 4K restoration, as described below.
“New, restored 4K digital transfer, supervised by director of photography Stuart Dryburgh and approved by director Jane Campion”
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. Richard Nash, was directed by and stars Clint Eastwood. It co-stars Dwight Yoakam, Eduardo Minett, Fernanda Urrejola, Horacio Garcia-Rojas, and Natalia Traven.

Amazon Commission EarnedAs announced today, during the “DCFanDome” 2021 event, there will officially be a DC Animated Movie called “Catwoman: Hunted” coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 8th, 2022 via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Shinsuke Terasawa, features the voice talents of Elizabeth Gillies, Stephanie Beatriz, Jonathan Banks, Steve Blum, Lauren Cohan, Keith David, Zehra Fazal, Kelly Hu, and Jonathan Frakes.
The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and a lossless 5.1 sound mix (likely in DTS-HD Master Audio, although yet confirmed). The 2021 film “Prisoners of the Ghostland” starring Nicolas Cage is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in SteelBook form (as pictured above) and Blu-ray Disc on November 16th, via RLJE Films. The film, directed by Sion Sono, co-stars Sofia Boutella, Nick Cassavetes, Bill Moseley, Tak Sakaguchi, and Yuzuka Nakaya.
The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. It would appear that no form of HDR (high dynamic range) will be included with the 4K release, but I have asked if that is the case, so stay tuned for an update [or perhaps confirmation]. The 2021 horror film “Malignant“ is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 30th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, produced, co-written & directed by James Wan, stars Annabelle Wallis, Maddie Hasson, George Young, Michole Briana White, Jean Louisa Kelly, Susanna Thompson, Jake Abel, and Jacqueline McKenzie. It is most certainly worth noting, that at the time of writing, this film is “Certified Fresh” currently over at Rotten Tomatoes.
