IT: Welcome to Derry first season gets 4K and Blu-ray

The HBO original “IT: Welcome to Derry – The Complete First Season” will be released to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and Blu-ray on May 5th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The show, based on the novel “IT” by Stephen King, was developed for TV by Jason Fuchs, Andy Muschietti, and Barbara Muschietti. It stars Taylour Paige, Stephen Rider, Matilda Lawler, Amanda Christine, Clara Stack, Jack Molloy Legault, Jack Molloy Legault, James Remar, Jovan Adepo, and Bill Skarsgård.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound, spanning across a 4-disc set. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound, which spans across a 4-disc set.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and Blu-ray are each now available for preorder at Amazon. Also, you can find the Blu-ray available for preorder at GRUV. Yet, the 4K SteelBook is currently sold out there. The 4K SteelBook will include 6 collectible “1962 Derry themed” postcards (pictured below).

Nosferatu comes to 4K and Blu-ray in February

The 2024 film adaptation of “Nosferatu” will come to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 18th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film is directed and co-written by Robert Eggers. It stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, and Willem Dafoe. It’s worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, based on critics’ reviews.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-50 disc. Both releases will include an “Extended Cut” of the film as well as the theatrical cut. Also, both releases will include a digital copy of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The 2024 film The Crow on 4K and Blu-ray in November

The 2024 film adaptation of “The Crow” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, and Blu-ray Disc on November 5th via Lionsgate, according to retailers. The film, directed by Rupert Sanders, stars Bill Skarsgård, FKA twigs, Danny Huston, Josette Simon, Laura Birn, and Sami Bouajila.

The tech specs for the 4K and Blu-ray releases have yet to be detailed but stay tuned for an update. The bonus materials have yet to be announced but stay tuned for a further update. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are available for preorder at Amazon.

There will be two different 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook exclusives, one at Amazon (pictured first below) and one at Walmart (pictured second below). Those 4K SteelBooks are available to preorder exclusively at each retailer (respectively).

IT Chapter Two on 4K and Blu-ray in December

The 2019 sequel “IT Chapter Two” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 10th. The film, based on the Stephen King story and directed by Andy Muschietti, stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, Jaeden Martell, Wyatt Oleff, Jack Dylan Grazer, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, and Bill Skarsgård (as “Pennywise”). Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range as well as Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The releases will both come in the form of “combo pack” with the 4K getting the Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting the DVD counterpart, and each receiving a digital code (copy) of the film. It’s worth noting that there will be a 4K UHD Blu-ray Steelbook exclusive to retailer Best Buy, which you can now find available for preorder (pictured below). “Assassination Nation” starring Odessa Young comes to Blu-ray in December

The 2018 Sam Levinson written & directed film “Assassination Nation“ starring Odessa Young is coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 18th via Universal, according to an early alert to retailers. The film co-stars Suki Waterhouse, Hari Nef, Abra, Anika Noni Rose, Colman Domingo, Bill Skarsgård, Joel McHale, Bella Thorne, and Maude Apatow. Not only does the movie have an impressive cast, it also has received pretty good ratings from critics and carries, at time of writing, a 70% rating over at Rotten Tomatoes.

Tech specs for the release include 1080p HD video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. It is known that the release will come with a Digital Copy of the film included. The Blu-ray is available for PRE-ORDER now over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.

“Castle Rock: The Complete First Season” on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray January

The Stephen King produced and inspired TV series “Castle Rock: The Complete First Season” (as seen on Hulu) is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 8th, 2019 via Warner. Tech specs for the 4K release include HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range, with both it and the Blu-ray release getting DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. This show, created by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason, is executive produced by J.J. Abrams, the cast for the first season features André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy, Sissy Spacek, Caleel Harris, Scott Glenn, Adam Rothenberg, and Terry O’Quinn. The 4K release will include the Blu-ray Discs of the first season as well, likely where the bonus materials are housed. Both releases will include a Digital Copy of the complete first season.
