The Smashing Machine on 4K and Blu-ray in January
The 2025 film “The Smashing Machine“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in January via A24. The film was written and directed by Benny Safdie. It stars Dwayne Johnson (“The Rock”) and Emily Blunt. This film is “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray version include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. It seems that the 4K UHD Blu-ray might be an exclusive to the A24 Shop. Also, the release date has only been indicated as sometime in January 2026. Stay tuned for an update on that as well.
You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray or Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon or Walmart. In the meantime, though, you can preorder both versions directly via the A24 Shop. The bonus materials included on the physical media releases are listed below.
