The 1980 film Terror Train will arrive on 4K in May

Roger Spottiswoode directed the film, best known for also directing “The 6th Day” (2000). This movie starred Jamie Lee Curtis, Ben JohnsonHart BochnerDavid CopperfieldVanitySandee Currie, and D.D. Winters.

This has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10, a form of high dynamic range, and lossless sound. The format(s) and configuration(s) for audio have not yet been detailed.

You cannot yet preorder the 4K UHD Blu-ray at Amazon or other retailers. So, stay tuned for an update. In the meantime, you can preorder directly via the Kino Lorber website.

The 1953 Western Shane is coming to 4K in July

The 1959 Western “Shane” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 15th via KL Studio Classics. George Stevens directed the film. It starred Alan LaddJean ArthurJack PalanceVan HeflinBen JohnsonBrandon De Wilde, and Edgar Buchanan. A Special Edition Blu-ray will also be available on July 15th via Kino Lorber as well.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation. It features a 1.37:1 aspect ratio. The presentation includes Dolby Vision or HDR10 high dynamic range. It also provides lossless Mono sound, all on a BD-100 disc. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. The tech specs for the Blu-ray Special Edition include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.37:1 aspect ratio and lossless Mono audio, on a BD-50 disc.

The 1974 film The Sugarland Express on 4K in November

The 1974 film “The Sugarland Express” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 12th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, the theatrical directorial debut from Steven Spielberg, starred Goldie Hawn, Ben Johnson, Michael Sacks, and William Atherton.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless surround sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will be a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy.

UPDATE: The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon and also at online retailer GRUV. The following bonus material will be included with this 4K release.

Clint Eastwood in “Hang ‘Em High” 50th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray December

The 1968 Western Hang ‘Em High starring Clint Eastwood is getting a “50th Anniversary Edition” release on Blu-ray Disc come December 11th via Shout! Factory on their “Shout Select” label. The film, directed by Ted Post, co-starred Inger StevensEd BegleyPat HingleBruce DernDennis Hopper, and L.Q. Jones. Tech specs and bonus materials have not yet been detailed but they have teased they will be announcing them later. UPDATE: This is now available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon.

It is also available for pre-order directly over at Shout! Factory – where you’ll get it 2 weeks early if you order. Stay tuned for further updates regarding this highly anticipated upcoming release. Let’s hope they give it a new transfer or perhaps restoration.
