Kevin Smith’s Dogma comes to 4K in December

The 1999 film “Dogma” is finally coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on December 9th via Lionsgate / Lionsgate Limited. Kevin Smith wrote, produced, directed, and co-starred in the movie. It starred Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Linda Fiorentino, Salma Hayek, Chris Rock, Jason Mewes, Janeane Garofalo, Alanis Morissette, and Jason Lee. The film also co-starred the late Alan Rickman and George Carlin. It’s certainly worth noting that this movie is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
EDITORIAL NOTE: It’s also worth mentioning that this movie has been OOP (out of print) on the Blu-ray format for a long time. So, it’s great to see it will finally be back available on physical media.
The movie has received a new 4K restoration. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Atmos sound. The releases will both come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart, as well as a digital copy of the movie included.
The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. The standard 4K release will be available at other retailers. The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below in detail) is now available exclusively for preorder via Lionsgate Limited.
The 4K SteelBook will include one physical extra, a 25th-anniversary Dogma: Revelations of the Easily Offended booklet. The bonus materials included with both 4K releases are listed below.

The Accountant 2 on 4K and Blu-ray in August

The 2025 sequel “The Accountant 2” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on August 12th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. This release comes from Amazon MGM Studios. Gavin O’Connor directed the movie. It stars Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons. It’s certainly worth noting that the movie is “Certified Fresh” (by critics) and “Verified Hot” (by audiences) at Rotten Tomatoes.
The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range. Audio on the 4K and Blu-ray will be presented in Dolby Atmos. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio. Both releases will include a digital copy of the film.
The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are both now available for preorder at Amazon. No bonus materials will be included with either release. The 2000 film “Reindeer Games” will be released in two formats. It will be available on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray Disc. The release date is January 14th via KL Studio Classics. The film was directed by John Frankenheimer. It starred Ben Affleck, Charlize Theron, and Gary Sinise. It also featured Dennis Farina, Clarence Williams III, Isaac Hayes, and Danny Trejo. Further roles included Donal Logue and James Frain.
The movie’s theatrical cut has received a new 4K master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation of the theatrical cut in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and lossless 2.0 sound, on a BD-100 disc. The tech specs for the Special Edition Blu-ray include a 1080p video presentation of the Director’s Cut in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 lossless sound, on a BD-50 disc. The Director’s Cut comes from an HD master. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 2006 film “Smokin’ Aces“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 3rd, via Universal Studios Home Entertainment, according to retailers. The film, written and directed by Joe Carnahan, starred Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Common, Andy Garcia, Alicia Keys, Ray Liotta, Ryan Reynolds, and Jeremy Piven.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS:X immersive sound on a BD-66 disc. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included as well as a digital code (copy) of the film. Retailer Best Buy will be getting an exclusive “15th Anniversary Limited Edition” 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release of the film (pictured below) which you can now find available there for preorder.

1999 film 200 Cigarettes on Blu-ray in February
The 1999 film “200 Cigarettes“ is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 15th via Paramount Home Entertainment, as a MOD (manufactured-on-demand) release. The film, directed by Risa Bramon Garcia, starred Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck, Dave Chappelle, Guillermo Díaz, Angela Featherstone, Janeane Garofalo, Gaby Hoffmann, Kate Hudson, Courtney Love, Jay Mohr, Martha Plimpton, Christina Ricci, and Paul Rudd.
The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation (presumably in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio) and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo sound on a BD-25 disc. It has not been clarified if these discs will be pressed or burnt but you’ll be able to preorder the Blu-ray MOD release directly via Movie Znyg. Also, you’ll be able to buy the Blu-ray over at retailer Walmart.com, where it’s now available for preorder. No bonus materials will be included with this release.
NOTE: This will mark the debut of this film on the Blu-ray Disc format. It has never been available in HD on home video until this upcoming release.
