Mufasa: The Lion King on 4K and Blu-ray in April

The 2024 film “Mufasa: The Lion King” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and Blu-ray on April 1st via Disney. The movie was directed by Barry Jenkins. The voice cast includes Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr.. The ensemble continues with Tiffany Boone, Kagiso Lediga, and Preston Nyman. Other notable voices are Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, and Lennie James. Additional actors include Anika Noni Rose and Keith David. Lastly, the cast features John Kani, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and Donald Glover.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-66 disc. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround sound, on a BD-50 disc. Both releases will come as a “combo pack.” The 4K will include its Blu-ray counterpart. The Blu-ray will include its DVD counterpart. Also, both releases will include a digital copy of the film.

DC animated movie Injustice on 4K and Blu-ray October

The 2021 DC animated movie “Injustice” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on October 19th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The movie is an adaptation of the video game (“Injustice: Gods Among Us”) created by NeatherRealm Studios as well as the graphic novel. The film, directed by Matt Peters, features a voice cast of Justin Hartley, Anson Mount, Janet Varney, Brandon Micheal Hall, Kevin Pollak, Anika Noni Rose, Reid Scott, Edwin Hodge, and Gillian Jacobs.

The tech specs for the 4K and Blu-ray have yet to be fully detailed but stay tuned for an update. You should definitely expect the 4K UHD Blu-ray release to at least include the HDR10 form of high dynamic range. In terms of sound, it is likely this will include DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround on both releases. The 4K release will come in the form of the “combo pack” meaning it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, with both releases also coming with a digital code (copy) of the film. The 2009 animated film The Princess and the Frog is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 5th via Disney, according to retailers. The film, directed by Ron ClementsJohn Musker, featured the voice talents of Anika Noni Rose, Bruno CamposKeith DavidOprah Winfrey, Terrence Howard, and John Goodman. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. “Assassination Nation” starring Odessa Young comes to Blu-ray in December

The 2018 Sam Levinson written & directed film Assassination Nation starring Odessa Young is coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 18th via Universal, according to an early alert to retailers. The film co-stars Suki WaterhouseHari NefAbraAnika Noni RoseColman DomingoBill SkarsgårdJoel McHaleBella Thorne, and Maude Apatow. Not only does the movie have an impressive cast, it also has received pretty good ratings from critics and carries, at time of writing, a 70% rating over at Rotten Tomatoes.

Tech specs for the release include 1080p HD video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. It is known that the release will come with a Digital Copy of the film included.
