Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning on 4K

The 2025 sequel “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on October 14th via Paramount. Christopher McQuarrie directed and co-wrote the film. It stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Henry Czerny. It’s certainly worth noting that this movie is rated both “Certified Fresh” based on reviews by critics and “Verified Hot” by audiences at Rotten Tomatoes.
The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in 2.39:1 and 1.90:1 shifting aspect ratios, including Dolby Vision and HDR10 with Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. NOTE: There will not be a standard Blu-ray release of this film on home video. If you want a Blu-ray, you’ll have to buy one of the two 4K 3-disc “combo packs” which include the Blu-ray Disc counterpart. A Blu-ray housing bonus materials will also be included. A digital copy of the film is also included with both of the 4K UHD Blu-ray releases.

How to Train Your Dragon 2025 on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2025 live-action film adaptation of “How to Train Your Dragon” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on August 12th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. It will also arrive on 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured in the center above). Dean DeBlois directed the movie. It stars Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Gabriel Howell, Julian Dennison, Bronwyn James, Harry Trevaldwyn, Peter Serafinowicz, with Nick Frost and Gerard Butler.
It’s worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” (based on critics) and “Verified Hot” (based on audiences) at Rotten Tomatoes. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in two different aspect ratios, including 2.39:1 and 1. 90:1 shifting, with HDR10, on a BD-100 disc. The 4K and Blu-ray will both include Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in 2.39:1 and 1.90:1 aspect ratios, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. A digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere, will be included with each version.

2018 science fiction film Prospect comes to 4K in June

The 2018 science fiction film “Prospect“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 29th via distributors Gunpowder & Sky and Vinegar Syndrome. The film, which was written & directed by Christopher Caldwell and Zeek Earl, starred Pedro Pascal, Sophie Thatcher, and Jay Duplass. It’s worth noting, at the time of writing, this film is “Certified Fresh” over on Rotten Tomatoes and available to stream on Netflix. Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p presentation in the 1.90:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon and over at retailer Target. Or, you can get it early directly via Vinegar Syndrome on May 25th if you preorder there.
