The 1995 film Babe and sequel on 4K in December

The 1995 film “Babe” and its 1998 sequel “Babe: Pig in the City” are coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray [individually] on December 16th via KL Studio Classics [Kino Lorber]. “Babe” (1995) was directed by Chris Noonan and produced and co-written by George Miller. The 1998 sequel [“Babe: Pig in the City”] was directed, produced, and co-written by George Miller. Actor James Cromwell co-starred in both films. The first motion picture was nominated for 7 Academy Awards (“Oscars”), and ended up winning for “Best Effects, Visual Effects.”

Both movies have received new 4K scans from the 35mm original camera negative(s). The tech specs [for each film] on 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), and lossless 5.1 and 2.0 stereo sound, all on a BD-100 disc [for each]. The audio should be in DTS-HD Master Audio. Each release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 4K UHD Blu-rays for “Babe” and “Babe: Pig in the City” are not yet available for preorder on Amazon, but stay tuned for an update. The 1991 film Thunderheart comes to 4K in January

The 1991 film “Thunderheart“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 13th, 2026, via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Michael Apted directed the film, which starred the late Val Kilmer, Sam Shepard, and Graham Greene. It co-starred Fred Ward, Fred Thompson, and Sheila Tousey.

The cinematographer Roger Deakins has approved this 4K presentation. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range, along with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 surround sound. This release will come with a digital copy, likely compatible with Movies Anywhere. Although that has yet to be confirmed.

The 2006 film Nacho Libre gets a 4K in December

The 2006 film “Nacho Libre” is officially making its debut on 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 9th via KL Studio Classics (Kino Lorber). Jared Hess co-wrote and directed the movie. It starred Jack Black, Ana de la Reguera, Héctor Jiménez, Darius Rose, Moises Arias, and Cesar Gonzalez.

This has received a 4K Scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), high dynamic range, and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-100 disc. The 2025 film The Roses gets a Blu-ray in November

The 2025 dark comedy “The Roses” is slated for a Blu-ray Disc release on November 25th via Searchlight Pictures (Disney). Jay Roach directed the movie, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman. It co-stars Andy Samberg, Kate McKinnon, Allison Janney, Sunita Mani, Ncuti Gatwa, Zoë Chao, and Jamie Demetriou. This movie is a reimagining of the 1989 classic film “The War of the Roses,” based on the novel by Warren Adler.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, on a BD-50 disc. The release will include a digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere. The Blu-ray is not yet available for preorder at Amazon or Walmart, but stay tuned for an update on that. The 2025 film “Caught Stealing” is set to arrive on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on November 11th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Darren Aronofsky directed the movie. It stars Austin Butler, Regina King, Zöe Kravitz, Matt Smith, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Benito Martínez Ocasio, Griffin Dunne, and Carol Kane. It’s worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews at Rotten Tomatoes.

Rob Reiner directed and co-wrote the film. It stars Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, and Michael McKean. The supporting cast includes Fran Drescher and Paul Shaffer, with cameos by Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Questlove, Paul McCartney, and Elton John.
