The 1995 film “To Die For” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on March 26th via The Criterion Collection.  The movie, directed by Gus Van Sant, starred Nicole Kidman, Matt Dillon, Joaquin Phoenix, Casey Affleck, Alison Folland, Dan Hedaya, Illeana Douglas, Wayne Knight, and Kurtwood Smith.

The movie has received a “NEW 4K digital restoration, approved by director Gus Van Sant and director of photography Eric Alan Edwards.”  The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.  The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.  UPDATED:  You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon and directly via Criterion‘s website. 1952 Kubrick film Fear and Desire on 4K in February

The 1952 war drama “Fear and Desire” directed by the legendary Stanley Kubrick will be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc (in a “Special Edition”) on February 27th via KL Studio Classics (Kino Lorber).  Both cuts, theatrical and the “Uncut Premiere Version” of the movie have received a NEW 4K Restorations in collaboration with the U.S. Library of Congress “from the 35mm Camera Negative and Fine Grain.”  The film starred Frank SilveraPaul MazurskyVirginia LeithKenneth HarpStephen CoitToba Kubrick, and David Allen.

Tech specs for the release include a Black and White 2160p video presentation in the 1.37:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and lossless Mono sound.  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that a Blu-ray will also be included, in addition to the 4K disc.

The 2023 film “Silent Night” directed by John Woo is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray via an exclusive SteelBook and to Blu-ray on January 30th via Lionsgate Home Entertainment.  The film stars Joel Kinnaman, Kid Cudi, Harold Torres, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Yoko Hamamura.  The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD presentation in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound.  You can find the preorder listing for the 4K UHD Blu-ray Exclusive SteelBook over at Walmart.  The preorder listings for the Blu-ray Disc version (pictured below) are up now over at Amazon, Walmart, and even at online retailers Deep Discount and Diabolik DVD.
