Once Upon A Time in the West comes to 4K in May

The 1969 Sergio Leone film “Once Upon A Time in the West” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 14th via Paramount Presents – as spine number 44 in the series. The movie, co-written by Dario Argento, starred Claudia Cardinale, Henry Fonda, Jason Robards, Charles Bronson, Gabriele Ferzetti, Woody Strode, Keenan Wynn, and Jack Elam.

UPDATE: Tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in Dolby Vision or HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround as well as a Dolby Digital Mono sound mix. This has received a new restoration as noted below (from a product description):

“Restored from the original camera negative by Paramount’s archive team, L’immagine Ritrovata and The Film Foundation. Special thanks to Martin Scorsese for his consultation on this restoration.”

The release will include both the 4K and Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as presumably a digital code (copy) of the film – although not yet confirmed. Poor Things starring Emma Stone on Blu-ray in March

The 2023 film “Poor Things” is officially coming to Blu-ray on March 12th via Searchlight Pictures (Disney). The film, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, stars Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef, Christopher Abbott, and Jerrod Carmichael. It’s certainly worth noting that this film has been deemed “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound, on a BD-50 disc. The release will include a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the Blu-ray Disc available for preorder over at Amazon. The film, written & directed by Sean Durkin, stars Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, Maura Tierney, Stanley Simons, Holt McCallany, and Lily James. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its DVD counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film included. The 1979 film “The Warriors” will be getting standard edition releases on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on March 26th via Arrow Video. The film, directed by Walter Hill, starred Michael Beck, James Remar, Dorsey Wright, Brian Tyler, David Harris, Tom McKitterick, Marcelino Sánchez, Terry Michos, Deborah Van Valkenburgh, Roger Hill, David Patrick Kelly, and Lynne Thigpen.

The film will be presented in its theatrical form, in a “new remaster from the original camera negative supervised by Arrow Films and approved by director Walter Hill.” The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range along with Dolby Atmos, uncompressed Mono, and lossless Stereo sound options.
