A Nightmare on Elm Street on 4K later this year

The modern classic 1984 horror film “A Nightmare on Elm Street” is said to be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray later this year via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The release date will October 15th according to retailer listings. The film, written & directed by Wes Craven, starred Robert Englund, John Saxon, Johnny Depp, Heather Langenkamp, Ronee Blakley, Amanda Wyss, Jsu Garcia, Charles Fleischer, Joseph Whipp, Joe Unger, and Lin Shaye.

The movie is celebrating its 40th anniversary in a big way with there to be a standard 4K UHD Blu-ray (pictured above on the left), a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured above in the middle), and in the United Kingdom there will be a 4K UHD Blu-ray “40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition” set (pictured above on the right). It is known that the film has received a new 4K restoration.

The tech specs and bonus materials have not yet been detailed, as the release still has not received an official announcement and release date, but you can expect that information later this year. The artwork tells us the SteelBook release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy included. The standard 4K release will have a digital copy.

You can already find the standard 4K UHD Blu-ray listed at online retailers Amazon and DeepDiscount and retailer Target (mistakenly for the SteelBook), the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook listed at online retailers Amazon & GRUV and retailer Walmart. Finally the UK 4K UHD Blu-ray “Ultimate Collector’s Edition” set is listed at online retailers DiabolikDVD, OrbitDVD, and Zavvi. The Ultimate Collector’s Edition set will include some of the following items:

Hindi language film Kill on 4K and Blu-ray September

The 2023 action film “Kill” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, and Blu-ray Disc on September 10th via Lionsgate. The film, made in India, was co-written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, and stars Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Tanya Maniktala, Abhishek Chauhan, and Ashish Vidyarthi. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes, based on reviews from critics.

2023 film Thanksgiving on 4K SteelBook in October

The 2023 horror film “Thanksgiving” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a SteelBook on October 15th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Directed by Eli Roth, the film starred Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman, and Gina Gershon.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range along with Dolby Atmos and the original DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.
