The 1992 film “Far and Away” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 17th via Shout Select (Shout! Studios). The film, directed and co-written by Ron Howard, starred Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Thomas Gibson, Robert Prosky, Barbara Babcock, and Colm Meaney.

The movie has received a “4K transfer of the 35mm interpositive approved by cinematographer Mikael Salomon.” The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range with Dolby Atmos as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo lossless sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included.

“I Love Lucy: The Complete Series” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 5th via CBS Home Entertainment & Paramount Home Media Distribution. The set will include the entire six seasons of the TV series (1951-1957) as well as “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour” (1957-1960) Remastered. It also will include a newly colorized and never-before-released “Lucy and the Loving Cup” episode. I Love Lucy starred Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, William Frawley, and Richard Keith. The tech specs for this release include a Black & White 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.33:1 aspect ratio with Uncompressed LPCM 2.0 Mono sound, spanning 33 discs. The 1942 film “The Talk of the Town” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 3rd via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, directed by George Stevens, starred Cary Grant, Jean Arthur, Ronald Colman, and Edgar Buchanan.

Wallace & Gromit Early Short Films on 4K in December

“Wallace & Gromit: The Complete Cracking Collection” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray / Blu-ray Disc as a set on December 10th via Shout! Studios. The 3-disc set will include four Aardman Animations early stop-motion animated short films (all directed by Nick Park) in 4K, an extra feature-length film (in HD), a nice share of physical extras, and supplemental materials. The four short films have received new 4K masters and restored audio. The short films feature the voice talent of Peter Sallis (as “Wallace”). The film, a sequel to “Twister” (1996), directed by Lee Isaac Chung, stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos, Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, and Sasha Lane. It’s worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and hDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc.
