The 1974 film “Earthquake” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on July 8th. These releases will arrive via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Mark Robson directed the film. It starred Charlton Heston, Ava Gardner, George Kennedy, Lorne Greene, Genevieve Bujold, and Richard Roundtree.
The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range, on a BD-66 disc. Dolby Atmos and DTS 2.1 “Sensurround” sound mixes will both be included.
The 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) are now available for preorder at Amazon. No bonus materials will be included on these releases. Both will come as a “combo pack.” The Blu-ray Disc counterpart will be included. A digital copy compatible with Movies Anywhere will also be included.
The 2024 film “Rust” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on July 22nd via Ascending Media Group, distributed by Decal Releasing. The movie was co-written and directed by Joel Souza. Alec Baldwin also co-wrote the film, as well as produced and starred in it. It co-stars Josh Hopkins, Patrick Scott McDermott, Frances Fisher, and Travis Fimmel. The final cut of the movie features cinematography by the late Halyna Hutchins, who died tragically on the set. Bianca Cline also served as the director of photography on all other scenes.
The technical specifications for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. No bonus materials will be included with this release. It’s also worth noting that a 4K digital version is available. There will not be a 4K physical media release. This could be because that is only presented in 4K SDR (standard dynamic range) without HDR.

The 1950 film “Sunset Boulevard” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on August 5th via Paramount Home Media Distribution. This will mark the film’s 75th anniversary. The legendary Billy Wilder co-wrote and directed the movie. It starred William Holden, Gloria Swanson, Erich von Stroheim, Nancy Olson, Fred Clark, and Jack Webb. It’s worth noting that this film is still “Certified Fresh” by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p Black & White video presentation in a 1.37:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range. It will feature lossless Dolby TrueHD 2.0 Mono sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy included. There is no information yet regarding the specifics of the bonus materials. However, you can likely expect legacy DVD & Blu-ray extras to be ported over.

Based on the popular video game (“Minecraft”), the movie was directed by Jared Hess. It stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge.
The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.
