This 20-disc set will be a “combo pack.” It includes 10 discs for the Blu-ray Disc counterparts for each film. There are also extras on those discs. The ten films included in this set are as follows:

  • “Bottle Rocket” (1996)
  • “Rushmore” (1998)
  • “The Royal Tenenbaums” (2001)
  • “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” (2004)

Here is both a photo and a teaser video of the set, giving you a further glimpse at the packaging.

The Wes Anderson Archive box set on 4K UHD Blu-ray/Blu-ray from The Criterion Collection

Last, but not entirely last, nor least. This is most certainly worth noting, especially for those who don’t want to purchase this rather extravagant box set. There will be individual 4K UHD Blu-ray releases of these films. Starting on September 30th with the individual releases of the films “Isle of the Dogs” (2018) and “The French Dispatch…” (2021). You can find their artwork below, along with links to their preorder listings on Criterion’s website. Theoretically, more of the 8 remaining films will get 4K UHD Blu-ray releases in the coming months and/or years.

One other thing. For those of you wondering why “Asteroid City” (2023) is not in the set. It specifically says it is meant to span 25 years, the first bit of his career. The films in the set start in 1996 and stop at 2021, for that very reason. He plans to do another set someday spanning another 25 years.

Finally, the descriptions of the films included are listed further below.

The 2025 film “Until Dawn” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray & Blu-ray on July 8th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film adaptation of the video game, of the same title, was directed by David F. Sandberg. It stars Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Maia Mitchell, and Peter Stormare.

EDITORIAL NOTE: This release will be a different type of “combo pack” for Sony. This [primarily 4K] product will be the only way you can purchase the movie on Blu-ray [in HD]. This has been a growing trend over the past few years with a few other studios and boutique labels. Frankly, it’s much easier to report on one release that contains both 4K and HD versions. Even for me as a news editor, this simplicity is appreciated. Now, I’m sure some consumers don’t own a 4K display or player. Some will not want to pay the extra price. I hear your concern, but I think this is, unfortunately, now a reality.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray (Blu-ray combo pack) is now available for preorder at Amazon and Walmart. The bonus materials set to be included with the 4K/Blu-ray release are listed below.

  • Deleted & Extended Scenes
  • Adapting a Nightmare – Join David F. Sandberg (Dir / Prod) and Gary Dauberman (Writer / Prod) as they explore the inspirations behind the film, the fun of genre-switching and how they expanded the universe of the game.
  • Death-Defying Cast – Dying over and over never felt so good – meet the fearless, game-for-anything cast as they attempt to survive Until Dawn.
  • Practical Terrors – From wendigos to exploding bodies, Director David F. Sandberg knows the value of practical effects – and how those prosthetics, props, and blood elicit a more authentic reaction from the cast.
  • Commentary with Director David F. Sandberg & Producer Lotta Losten
