The 2021 film The Little Things gets a 4K in July

The 2021 film “The Little Things” is set to arrive on 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 8th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. John Lee Hancock wrote and directed this film. It starred Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, and Jared Leto.

The tech specs have not yet been fully detailed. However, you can likely expect a 2160p video presentation on the 4K in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by at least HDR10 and a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix. But stay tuned for an update on that. This will only include a 4K UHD Blu-ray disc. It will most undoubtedly also include the same bit of bonus materials found on the previously released Blu-ray. The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon.

The 1995 film Casper comes to 4K in August

The 1995 film “Casper” arrives on 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on August 12th. Universal Studios Home Entertainment will be doing the releases. Brad Silberling directed the film. The movie starred Bill Pullman, Christina Ricci, Cathy Moriarty, Eric Idle, Ben Stein, and Don Novello. It’s worth noting that this motion picture is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Also, the movie was executive produced by Steven Spielberg with his company, Amblin Entertainment.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range. It will also include Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-100 disc. The 4K releases (standard and SteelBook) will both be a 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart enclosed. A digital copy of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere, will also be included.

The 1984 Mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on September 16th via The Criterion Collection. Rob Reiner directed the film. It starred Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer. It also co-starred Rob Reiner, Bruno Kirby, Tony Hendra, Ed Begley Jr., and Fran Drescher.

The movie has received a new 4K digital restoration, approved by director Rob Reiner. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 forms of high dynamic range. It will feature a lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound mix and uncompressed Linear PCM 2.0 stereo. The tech specs for the Blu-ray Special Edition include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and PCM 2.0 stereo sound. The 4K UHD release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 1980 musical Xanadu comes to 4K in August

The 1980 musical “Xanadu” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Special Edition on August 19th via KL Studio Classics. Robert Greenwald directed the film. It starred Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly, Michael Beck, James Sloyan, Dimitra Arliss, and Sandahl Bergman.

This received a new 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, available with either Dolby Vision or HDR10, on a BD-100 disc. It will include lossless sound mixes of the original 4.0 stereo, 5.1 surround, and 2.0 stereo. The 1983 film “Krull“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on September 16th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Peter Yates directed this film. It starred Ken Marshall, Lysette Anthony, Freddie Jones, and Francesca Annis.

The movie has been restored from the original camera negative and approved by Cinematographer Peter Suschitzky. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It comes with Dolby Atmos, lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, and 2.0 surround sound. This 2-disc set will be a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. The 2024 film The Surfer comes to 4K in July

The 2024 film “The Surfer“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 15th via Lionsgate Limited. Lorcan Finnegan directed the film. It stars Nicolas Cage, Finn Little, Rahel Romahn, Nic Cassim, Julian McMahon, Miranda Tapsell, Alexander Bertrand, and Rory O’Keeffe. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is deemed “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, based on reception from critics.

The 2025 film “Final Destination: Bloodlines” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on July 22nd via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky directed the movie. It starred Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, and Richard Harmon. The cast also includes Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, and Rya Kihlstedt. Brec Bassinger and Tony Todd complete the ensemble.
