The 1998 film John Carpenter’s Vampires is getting a “Collector’s Edition” Blu-ray Disc release on September 24th via Scream Factory. The film, directed by John Carpenter, starred James WoodsDaniel BaldwinSheryl Lee, Thomas Ian Griffith, Maximilian Schell, and Tim Guinee. The tech specs for the release have not yet been fully detailed but you can expect full 1080p HD video in the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio with lossless (DTS-HD Master Audio) sound, likely in both 2.0 Stereo and 5.1 surround configurations – although not yet confirmed. The Collector’s Edition Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be included on the release have just been detailed today and are listed below.

The House of Hitchcock Collection Limited Edition Blu-ray Disc box set is coming on October 1st, via Universal, according to retailers. The box set will include a total of 15 movies directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Those films, all previously available on the Blu-ray format, included in this set are listed below (in chronological order):

The 2007 Ridley Scott directed film American Gangster starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 15th via Universal. The film, nominated for two Academy Awards, co-starred Chiwetel Ejiofor, Josh Brolin, Lymari Nadal, Ted Levine, John Hawkes, RZA, and Ruby Dee. Tech specs for the 4K include 2160p video in 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and HDR10+ forms of High Dynamic Range and DTS:X sound. The 1983 Brian De Palma directed film Scarface starring Al Pacino is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a “Gold Edition” on October 15th via Universal. The film’s screenplay was written by Oliver Stone and it co-starred Michelle PfeifferSteven Bauer, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Robert Loggia. Tech specs for the 4K include 2160p video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio in HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS:X sound. The release will come in the form of “combo pack” with a Blu-ray and digital copy (code) of the film included. UPDATE: Amazon has now added back a pre-order listing for the 4K UHD Blu-ray. The classic Frank Capra directed 1946 film It’s A Wonderful Life starring James Stewart is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 29th via Paramount. The film co-starred Donna ReedLionel Barrymore, Thomas Mitchell, Henry Travers, and Beulah Bondi. The 4K tech specs for the release include restored video with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range. No information has been given yet in regards to the sound format. UPDATE: The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon.
