The 2020 HBO limited series “The Undoing” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 23rd, 2021, via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The limited series, created by David E. Kelley and directed by Susanne Bier, starred Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Edgar Ramirez, Noah Jupe, Lily Rabe, Noma Dumezweni, Sofie Gråbøl, Matilda De Angelis, Ismael Cruz Córdova, and Donald Sutherland. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, spanning across two BD-50 discs for the 6 episodes. Nickelodeon film “Good Burger” on Blu-ray in February

The 1997 Nickelodeon film “Good Burger” starring Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell is finally coming to Blu-ray on February 16th, 2021, via Paramount. The film, directed by Brian Robbins, was a spin-off from a sketch that originally aired on the Nickelodeon show “All That” back in 1994. The film adaptation co-starred Sinbad, Abe Vigoda, Shar Jackson, Dan Schneider, Jan Schweiterman, Josh Server, Linda Cardellini, Shaquille O’Neal, and George Clinton. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. John Hughes 5-Movie Collection on Blu-ray in February

There will be a “John Hughes 5-Movie Collection” officially coming to Blu-ray Disc, as a set, on February 23rd, 2021, via Paramount. The 5-movie collection will include two films that will be making their debuts on the Blu-ray Disc format, noted accordingly below (with an *). The films in the 5-movie collection include:

  • “Planes, Trains, And Automobiles” (1987)
  • “Ferris Beuller’s Day Off” (1986)
  • “She’s Having a Baby” (1988) *
  • “Pretty in Pink” (1986)
  • “Some Kind of Wonderful” (1987) *

Three of the five films here were written, produced, and directed by the late John Hughes, with the exceptions being the last two films listed (“Pretty in Pink” and “Some Kind of Wonderful”) which were only written & produced by Hughes. Those two other films were both directed by Howard Deutch. As I had mentioned, two of the films listed will be making their exclusive debuts on the Blu-ray format via this set. You can now find the 5-Movie Collection on Blu-ray available to preorder over at Amazon. The tech specs for the films new on this set have not yet been detailed but the others all will for sure include 1080p HD video in their OAR (original aspect ratio) with lossless 5.1 surround sound. Stay tuned for an update on if the other two films will also get 5.1 lossless surround mixes. It is known that this set will come with digital copies of each of the five films. Fatman starring Mel Gibson comes to Blu-ray in January

The 2020 film “Fatman” starring Mel Gibson appears to be coming to Blu-ray Disc on January 26th, 2021, via Paramount, according to multiple retailers. The film, written and directed by Eshom NelmsIan Nelms, co-stars Walton Goggins, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Chance Hurstfield. The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed but stay tuned for when the title gets officially announced by the studio, likely next week. In the meantime, it’s obvious you will get a digital code (copy) of the film included with the release, judging from the cover artwork (pictured above). You can now find the Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon, as well as at retailers Best Buy and Walmart. You’ll see that the 1/26/21 release date is indicated on all of those.

2015 film The Little Prince arrives on Blu-ray in February

The 2015 stop-motion animated film “The Little Prince” is coming to Blu-ray Disc, for the very first time in North America, on February 9th via Paramount. The film, directed by Mark Osborne, featured a voice cast that included the talents of Jeff BridgesRachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, Bud Cort, Benicio Del Toro, James Franco, Ricky Gervais, Paul Giamatti, Riley Osborne, Albert Brooks, and Mackenzie Foy. The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed but you can expect the studio [Paramount] to very likely officially announce this title next week.
