The 1959 film “Ben-Hur” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on February 17th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. William Wyler directed the film, which won a total of 11 Academy Awards. It starred Charlton Heston, Haya Harareet, Hugh Griffith, Jack Hawkins, Stephen Boyd, Martha Scott, Cathy O’Donnell, and Sam Jaffe.

The movie has been digitally restored and will be presented in a 2160p video format with a 2.76:1 aspect ratio, featuring Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos, as well as lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.0 surround sound. This will span across a total of two 4K UHD Blu-ray discs. A digital code (copy) of the movie will be included with both releases, compatible with Movies Anywhere. A bonus Blu-ray disc will be included, making this a 3-disc set.

Predator: Badlands comes to Blu-ray and 4K in February

The 2025 film “Predator: Badlands” will be available on February 17th on 4K UHD Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, and Blu-ray via 20th Century Studios (Disney). Dan Trachtenberg co-wrote the story and directed the movie. It stars Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi and Elle Fanning. It’s worth noting that this motion picture is “Certified Fresh” by critics and “Verified Hot” by audiences at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-66 disc. Technical specifications for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook will both be 2-disc “combo pack” releases, with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. All of the 4K and Blu-ray physical media releases will feature a digital code (copy) of the film, which is compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The 2011 animated film “Rango“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray, in a standard release, on March 10th via Paramount. Gore Verbinski co-wrote the story, produced, and directed the film. It featured the voice talents of Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, and Abigail Breslin. It also featured the voices of Ned Beatty, Alfred Molina, Bill Nighy, Stephen Root, Harry Dean Stanton, and Timothy Olyphant.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, on a BD-66 disc. The 1979 TV miniseries adaptation of “Salem’s Lot“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition on March 31st via Arrow Video. Tobe Hooper directed the miniseries, based on the novel written by Stephen King. It starred David Soul, James Mason, Lance Kerwin, Bonnie Bedelia, Lew Ayres, Julie Cobb, and Elisha Cook Jr.

This release includes new 4K restorations of both the original two-part miniseries and the shorter theatrical cut distributed internationally. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.33:1 for the 2-part TV miniseries, a 1.85:1 aspect ratio for the theatrical cut, and lossless Mono sound for both versions.
