RUMOR ALERT: “Predator” coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray possibly in August
UPDATE #2: This seems to be confirmed, just not yet officially announced, as there is U.S. cover art on the PRE-ORDER listing over at Amazon.
Okay, so take this only as a RUMOR. Our friend Bill Hunt over at The Digital Bits just shared a tweet, and had been recently teasing about it, “Predator” looks to possibly be slated for an August stateside release on 4K UHD Blu-ray. The European import cover art (pictured above) that Bill posted, along with a UK release date of “8/6” in the tweet tells us to expect it likely around that same time stateside. In fact, Bill replied to me, as you’ll find further below, and speculates on a logical (Tuesday) August 7th release date. ONCE AGAIN, take this ‘with a grain of salt‘ and only as a RUMOR at this point until Fox Home Entertainment confirms it.
UPDATE #1: My co-writer (Brendan) has come across what we think to be a PRE-ORDER listing for the 4K UHD Blu-ray over at Amazon, that carries, just as Bill suggested, a AUGUST 7th release date. We cannot confirm this, yet there’s no one denying it, at this point. So, stay tuned for further updates and possibly an official release announcement later next week?

UPDATE: Bill seems to believe August 7th is the U.S. release date, as another tweet suggests. Still take this only as a RUMOR, until the studio officially confirms it.
Looks like @FoxHomeEnt has a Predator Trilogy Blu-ray set due on 8/7 (listed on Amazon already), so I would guess that’s when we’ll get the 4K as well.
