The 2011 film “Contagion” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 27th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, distributed here by Allied Vaughn.  The film, directed by Steven Soderbergh, starred Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude LawGwyneth PaltrowKate Winslet, and Bryan Cranston.

The tech specs for the release have yet to be fully detailed, but you can expect a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and HDR10 form of high dynamic range and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround.  There’s no sign of Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos being included with this release.  No Blu-ray counterpart will be part of the release, but you will get a digital code (copy) of the film.  Bonus materials should be identical to the previous Blu-ray and likely are housed on the 4K disc.  Stay tuned for an update on the specifics of the release.  NOTE: This release is said to be MOD (manufactured on demand), however, based on previously released titles, this will not be a burnt disc.

MAJOR UPDATES:  Amazon now has the 4K UHD Blu-ray preorder listing back up.  You can also find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Deep Discount and MovieZyng.  The United Kingdom (UK) will be getting two different 4K UHD Blu-ray releases with one being SteelBook (pictured below) which are now available for preorder over at online retailer Zavvi.
