The 2013 film American Hustle on 4K SteelBook in May

The 2013 film “American Hustle” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a limited edition SteelBook on May 21st via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, directed by David O. Russell, starred Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Jennifer Lawrence. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is still “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The new 4K transfer and sound mix were approved by the film’s director, David O. Russell. The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. There will also be the original theatrical DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound mix included. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film included. You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available for preorder at Amazon or Walmart but stay tuned for an update. The bonus materials set to be included with this release are listed below.

Thor Love and Thunder on 4K and Blu-ray in September

The 2022 Marvel Studios sequel “Thor: Love and Thunder” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on September 27th via Disney, according to retailers.  The film, directed by Taika Waititi, stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and the director himself (Taika Waititi).

The 4K UHD Blu-ray tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround sound. The 4K release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning it will include the Blu-ray Disc counterpart.  Both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases will each include a digital code (copy) of the film which is compatible with Movies Anywhere.

You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases available for preorder now over at Amazon.  It is most certainly also worth noting that there will be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook exclusive to retailer Best Buy (pictured below) which is also now available for preorder.

The 2019 film “Ford v Ferrari” starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 11th via Fox. The film, based on a true story & directed by James Mangold, co-stars Jon Bernthal, Tracy Letts, and Remo Girone. This movie has received quite a bit of critical acclaim during its theatrical run, in fact, at the time of writing this carries a “Certified Fresh” rating over at Rotten Tomatoes. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The technical specifications for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 sound. The 4K UHD Blu-ray will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the inclusion of its Blu-ray counterpart. Both the 4K and Blu-ray will receive a digital code (copy) of the film. The 2000 Mary Harron directed film “American Psycho” starring Christian Bale is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 25th via Lionsgate. The release will come in an “Uncut Version” (UNRATED), not the R-rated theatrical cut. Tech specs for the release include full 2160p 4K video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. Both varieties of High Dynamic Range, HDR10 and Dolby Vision will be included. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc, as well as a Digital Copy, of the film also included.
