Richard Kelly’s Southland Tales on Arrow Video Blu-ray

The 2006 Richard Kelly film “Southland Tales” will be officially getting a Limited Edition 2-Disc Blu-ray release from Arrow Video on January 26th, 2021. The film, previously released on the format back in 2008, will now feature a new 2K video restoration that was “approved by director Richard Kelly and director of photography Steven Poster.” Tech specs for the Limited Edition Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD presentation in the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio with the original lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and PCM 2.0 Stereo sound mixes. This release will include both the film’s 145-minute Theatrical cut and also the 160-minute “Cannes” cut — as shown at the Cannes Film Festival. The film’s cast included Dwayne JohnsonSarah Michelle GellarSeann William Scott, Justin Timberlake, John Larroquette, Jon Lovitz, Wood Harris, Christopher Lambert, Amy Poehler, Cheri Oteri, Will Sasso, Wallace Shawn, Mandy Moore, Beth Grant, Zelda Rubinstein, and Kevin Smith.

Play Misty for Me gets Special Edition Blu-ray

The 1971 film Play Misty for Me directed by Clint Eastwood is getting a Special Edition Blu-ray Disc release on November 10th via KL Studio Classics. The film starred Clint Eastwood, Jessica WalterDonna Mills, John Larch, Jack Ging, Irene Hervey, James McEachin, Clarice Taylor, and Don Siegel. This motion picture has received a brand new 2K master. Tech specs for the release have not yet been fully detailed, however, it is known that it will be on a BD-50 (50 gigabytes) Blu-ray Disc. Stay tuned for an update regarding the aspect ratio and details about what audio configuration and format(s) it is presented in. You can now find the Special Edition Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. This will come with limited edition slipcover (pictured above) and reversible artwork, as seen on Amazon. “Just One of the Guys” comes to Blu-ray April

The 1985 cult-classic comedy Just One of the Guys starring Joyce Hyser is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a debut to Blu-ray Disc on April 28th, via Sony. The film, directed by Lisa Gottlieb, co-starred Clayton Rohner, Billy Jacoby, Toni Hudson, and William Zabka. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video, from a new 2K remaster, in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio original theatrical Mono sound. You can now find Blu-ray listed over at Amazon and it should be available for preorder very soon. The only bonus material set to be included on the release is listed below.

“Laurel & Hardy” Restorations on Blu-ray June

Some of their shorts and feature-length films have been restored as Laurel & Hardy: The Definitive Restorations on Blu-ray Disc which coming on June 16th, via Kit Parker Films (distributed by MVD Entertainment Group). The comedy duo featured the late legends Stan LaurelOliver Hardy and this set chronicles their careers with 17 short films, 2 feature-length films, and eight hours worth of bonus materials – for a 511 minutes total runtime. All of these have been restored in 2K and 4K from the original 35mm film nitrate. The tech specs for the 4-disc set have not yet been fully detailed but stay tuned for an update. The 1972 spaghetti western film The Grand Duel starring Lee Van Cleef is getting a Blu-ray Disc release on May 7th, via Arrow Video. The film, directed by Giancarlo Santi, co-starred Philipp WermeerAlberto DenticeJess Hahn, and Horst Frank. Tech specs for the new Blu-ray include 1080p video from a new 2K restoration (taken from the original 35mm camera negative) and uncompressed Linear PCM Mono sound. The 1976 Enzo G. Castellari directed Western Keoma starring Franco Nero is getting a Blu-ray Disc release on April 16th, via Arrow Video. The film, co-starring William Berger and Olga Karlatos, has previously been released as a double feature on Blu-ray format (back in 2012). This time around the folks at Arrow have given it a new 2K restoration from the original 35MM camera negatives. Tech specs for the release include 1080p video and uncompressed PCM 1.0 Mono sound.
