– Amazon Commissions Earned –The 2019 film “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc in a “limited edition” SteelBook officially on October 13th via Sony. The film, as seen originally on Netflix, was written & directed by Vince Gilligan (creator of the show “Breaking Bad” which it follows). El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie starred Aaron Paul, Jonathan Banks, Matt Jones, Charles Baker, Jesse Plemons, and the late Robert Forster. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The release will come with a DVD counterpart of the film included in the SteelBook. However, no digital copy appears to be included with the set.

– Amazon Commissions Earned –The 2019 Japanese animated film “Weathering With You” will be receiving a 4K physical release in the “Deluxe Limited Collector’s Edition” Blu-ray Disc set on November 17th via Shout! Factory / GKIDS. As mentioned this set will notably include an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc in the 4-disc set, as well as the Blu-ray Disc. Plus, there will be a Blu-ray bonus disc, the original CD soundtrack, a 104-page booklet, a mini-poster, and a decal sticker (pictured further below). The film, written & directed by Makoto Shinkai, features an English dub voice cast that includes Brandon Engman, Ashley Boettcher, Lee Pace, Alison Brie, and Riz Ahmed. This collector’s edition set will feature the same tech specs for the Blu-ray: a 1080p presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with both English & Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound mixes. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p 4K presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with both HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range as well as both English & Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound mixes. The bonus materials, in addition to those found on the standard Blu-ray releases (coming September), will include further materials that have just been finalized — as I was told by the folks at Shout! Factory, along with the full tech specs today. Those bonus materials include the following.

Tech specs for the Criterion Blu-ray include a 1080p HD presentation in the (OAR) original aspect ratio 1.85:1, from a new 4K restored transfer, supervised & approved by Jim Jarmusch, with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The film, directed by Norman Jewison & winner of 3 Academy Awards (“Oscars”), starred Cher, Nicolas Cage, Vincent Gardenia, Olympia Dukakis, Danny Aiello, Julie Bovasso, John Mahoney, Louis Guss, Feodor Chaliapin Jr., and Anita Gillette.
Tech specs for the Criterion Blu-ray include a 1080p HD presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio, from a new 4K restoration, with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. – Amazon Commissions Earned –A set called the “Stanley Kubrick 3-Film 4K Collection“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 22nd featuring three of the late director’s classic films, via Warner. The 7-disc set will include the following films, two of which were both previously released and then the third will be coming out the very same day (also individually):
The tech specs for the releases are as follows. All will be presented in the 2160p 4K resolution with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range and get DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. One film, 2001: A Space Odyssey, will get HDR10+ form of High Dynamic Range in addition to the two other forms. Aspect ratios are as follows, The Shining in 1.78:1 aspect ratio (mislabeled 1.85:1), 2001: A Space Odyssey in 2.20:1 ratio, and finally Full Metal Jacket in 1.78:1 (mislabeled 1.85:1). Each of the films will come with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart but 2001: A Space Odyssey will also include an additional bonus disc. All three films will get a digital code (copy) of them included as well, making each of them a “combo pack” by definition. Their bonus materials will be identical to those found on the standard individual 4K UHD Blu-ray releases.
