“Bad Times at the El Royale” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in January

The 2018 film “Bad Times at the El Royale” starring Jeff Bridges is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 1st, 2019 via Fox. The film, written & directed by Drew Goddard, co-stars Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Cailee Spaeny, Lewis Pullman, Nick Offerman, and Chris Hemsworth.

Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio sound. Each release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray, the Blu-ray getting a DVD, and both getting a Digital Copy of the film included. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are both available to pre-order now over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be included on the releases are listed below.

2017 German film “Snowflake” on Blu-ray in December via Artsploitation Films

The 2017 German language film Snowflake” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 18th via Artsploitation Films. The film, or as its original title “Schneeflöckchen” in German, was co-directed by Adolfo J. Kolmerer and William James. The cast includes: Erkan AcarReza BrojerdiXenia AssenzaDavid Masterson, and Alexander Schubert. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Digital 5.1 German sound (with English subtitles). You can find the Blu-ray available to pre-order over at Amazon. The only bonus material set to be included on the release is a “making of” featurette with an hour runtime. DreamWorks animation “How to Train Your Dragon” and sequel on 4K in January

The DreamWorks animated film How to Train Your Dragon (2010) and its sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) are both coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 22nd, 2019 via Universal. Each film will be released individually, as learned from an early alert to retailers. Both films feature the voice talents of Jay BaruchelCate Blanchett, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-PlasseT.J. Miller, Kristen Wiig, and Gerard Butler. Tech specs for the 4K releases include 2160p video in the 2.35:1 with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS:X sound, on each film. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc and Digital Copy of the film included.

You can find pre-order listings up for the 4K UHD Blu-ray versions of How to Train Your Dragon and How to Train Your Dragon 2 now over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be included on the releases are identical to those found on the previous Blu-ray releases. 2018 film “Halloween” officially comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in January

The 2018 film “Halloween” directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 15th, 2019 via Universal. The film is a sequel to John Carpenter‘s original 1978 classic (of the same title). Carpenter contributed music to this and served as an executive producer, along with Jamie Lee Curtis. Danny McBride co-wrote the screenplay and also served as an executive producer. It’s also worth noting that this film was a joint venture with Jason Blum (producer) and his production house Blumhouse. The cast includes Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner, and Nick Castle. This (at time of writing) is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes by the critics, and seems to have been liked by moviegoers as well.
